Gonna be a long night. I got rum… God knows how much snuff will be needed. SP tin on standby… What you snuffin?
Grand Cairo for this grand occasion. I hope Hugh Gaitskell will be the next PM. Anthony Eden was ok with some obvious fuck-ups, but it’s time for change!
just me and you snuffin on election night??? come on people!
someone gave me an only tin of Tucky snuff. Seems to be OK, but have the Doppelaroma on standby.
Rtè election studio has all kind of weirdo northern unionists on; scary people! Had to take some Dental Mild to get over that!
good call on tucky - reached for that myself! my uk advice is go for a decent SP, avoid menthol… i’m on SP No1
I’m on my Camphor Bomb tonight. Stefan
Seems Labour has 3 seats against nil now. Pity I don’t have any JH Wilsons now, that’s truly working man’s snuff. But seems have to go for some degenerate Tory snuff later, maybe F&T Macouba?
Gordon Brown gave a good speech, took some WoS IDHT#20!
Hung parliament, huh? Drawn and quartered it should be.
As long as the old evil (evil is blue coloured) are not able to get any real power, I’m happy. If we can have a labour/liberal coalition and get rid of brown, I’ll be on joy overload.
What’s the story now? Queenie has the final vote, or?
Tories appear to be in. But as they dont have a majority they will have to butter the other parties up when they want to pass legislation.
Ooo!! A politics thread! Stand by chaps, you’re talking to a politics student here! I was on Extra Crombs of Comfort I believe. Anyway, Bish, the thing is although the Tories have more seats then Labour, that doesn’t mean they are in. They need an out right majority for Her Majesty to ask Cameron to form govt. So, as they do not have an outright majority, the consitution states that Brown has the first pop at forming a coalition however it would appear that they certainly won’t do one with Conservatives and Lib Dem don’t want to know anything about it. So the Tories and Lib Dem are talking about forming a coalition. If they do, then HM will call Cameron to form a govt. Although that might not work, so if that is the case, Her Majesty will either have to choose Brown to form govt or Cameron to. Only she then can decide who gets to give it a pop yet she will more than likely ask Cameron as he can say that he has more of a legitimate mandate than Labour due to getting about 50 more seats… It’s all very exciting stuff I say! I was up till 6:30am watching it. Paid for it during the day though, was shatterd. And I had a poltics exam lol.
Oh, also would just like to add… Tories all the way baby! It’s a bloody shame that they never got an out right majority. Would have been nice although still, if they have to form a coalition to get bloody Labour out then crack on chaps!
Shoot the lot I say. People have short memories it seems, I could never vote tory and will not likely ever vote labour again either.
After the last tory government, I choke on bile when they attack labour over corruption. The tories were responsible for some of the most outrageous behaviour of any government in recent centuries. Every party in power has its fingers in pies but they really are the best at dodgyness. Rant over.
I’m in US not the UK but hell I’ve got a good bottle of red wine and a great deal of Tom Buck to go with… Cheers to my UK brothers…
Bish I couldn’t agree more, I would rant about the Conservatives myself (God I hate Tories) but I think you did such a fine job I don’t need to bother! Unfortunately none of the main three parties truly represent my political views so I wasted my vote on a party that had no chance but at least I can sleep at night! lol I was working all night but I was still on the Toque Cherry
I think it’s good for democracy to have a coalition government in UK for chance. Previous one party goverments with weak mandate were a bit dodgy. And this horse-trading part of politics is really interesting! Happy that Tories now can’t mess EU, Lib Dems are pro-european like Labour.
