Two Reviews from the Old Mill

Premiere I’ve spent much time with this, as with the Fleur de Cafe, and as Daniel recently mentioned they have their close similarities. However, the Premiere came as a very moist, coarse, rappe. This gives the tendency to make snuff soup up in the snout, but how completely worth it that is. My only complaint is of personal reason, such coarse wet snuff only allows so big a pile to get up my nose and still allow me to breathe. The scent is straight up, all business, dark-fleshed fruit and woods. It’s like a coniferous forest scattered with cherry trees, the fruit overripe and laying burst upon the soil, accompanied with the comforting smell of what I feel is cedar or oak. My nose also picks up, not the particular sweetness, but the tart zing I get when burrowing my nose into a bag of fresh craisins. I smell a concoction of other fermented dark fruit, but that overripe cherry sweetness, with shorts whiffs of cranberry “zing” is what my olfactory senses gravitate towards. This all stays in the nose much longer than most of my snuff, as with the Fleur de Cafe, and carries not the scent, but the warmth of dark liquor all the way through. I truly, truly, enjoy this, and believe just as much care of that in the other two great artisans is carried within Daniel. Uber Mint Just that. REAL MINT! It’s the, to me, heavenly and familiar scent of mint next to the creek and in our own gardens… and everything else it’s grown into there. Daniel mentioned honeysuckle, and while I don’t get that, it does have a kind of sweetness to it that is very pleasing. But the main player is that perfect mint, more natural than any of the mints available that I’ve tried (excluding peppermint as I’ve yet to try them all). If you like menthol and mint, and hate rebound congestion like I do, it’s a must have. After the cooling sensation and the memory prevoking center of the show leaves, the tobacco reminds you it too is just as tasty. It’s a fluffy grind, with a good bit of moisture, and almost gone unfortunately… As many are doing, don’t miss out on the opportunities to support Daniel and try what his culinary skills, innovation, and care for snuff have turned into must try’s. And once you try, I suspect must haves. I put this snuff up there with my favorites from SWS. Not the same, mind you, but unique and just as addicting. My hope is one day, large quantities are easily accessible. Price wouldn’t be an issue… They’re just that great.

Thank you for the kind comments, much appreciated. I have to agree on Premiere’s grind and moisture so I’ve given it some additional drying and another trip through the mill and sieve. I think it’s an improvement and will be sending this out with all Fleur de Cafe orders.

where can we order these snuffs here in the UK ? I would love to order some

IM me here at Snuffhouse with all your info; address, email, paypal and what and how much you want to order. Until I get proper packaging it’s $7.00 USD for 10 Gram Zip Bag~double bagged. Shipping is extra and will be estimated as close as I can get from the post office. Paypal has fees, so we may need to try other options. Cheers

I picked some more honeysuckle today. What a pain in the ass, but worth it. Uber Mint is almost gone and won’t make a comeback in that exact recipe, but it’s V2.0 will be ready by next fall. I’m working on the sauce for it all summer and hope to be able to boost the honeysuckle on this new one. Cheers
