Today it’s 2 months without a cigarette!! Thank you snuff!! All the tobacco haters I know are telling me my nose will fall off or something. Screw 'em!
Congrads! You are much more healthy now. Wonderful stuff this snuff.
Congrats Carol! Same here, I dipped/chewed for 40 years and quit a few months ago using snuff, no problem. I can’t say enough good about snuff!
Well done, Carol. But just remember, you’re a puff away from a packet a day. So don’t even think about it!! Keep em snuff flowing up your nose.
I don’t plan on smoking. I think the only thing that would tempt me is if someone popped in with a Gitanes or some of the old Gauloises black. That would tempt me hardcore. I’m a sucker for dark French tobacco. Since it’s not available here, I likely won’t be tempted by any. I bet it would make a nice snuff though.
Great job Carol!
You know Carol I love European cigs and I smoke one or two every once and a while. The way I see it it is so much easier to give yourself permission to have one when you want one. I stress want not need it to get rid of the nic craving. I found that if you have one and think that you have screwed up badly you are more likely to smoke the rest of the pack. If you say to yourself it is ok to have one every once and a while you won’t beat yourself up and think you have failed. The iron will of “I’ll never have one again” got me in more trouble than my attitude of it is ok to have one once and a while. That way you are not feeling deprived.
I agree with Jarhog, and I’ve really quit smoking as an unintentional side effect of using snuff…I just grew less fond of smokes…but enjoy one with my brothers on occasion. If you don’t want to smoke anymore at all, however, I applaud you!
I’m the same as Jarhog and matsnuffs. Just grew less fond of them over time the more I snuffed. I bought my last pack of cigarettes in March I think, then got a pouch of RYO. The fact that I have to make them makes it that much more effort, so the pouch is still here after 3 months only about 1/3 used. I never set out to quit smoking, so I don’t feel guilt if I smoke. I understand for some its all or nothing, and if that works for you, then keep abstaining.
Congratulations Carol! I would guess that snuff smells so much better too, now that you don’t smoke cigarettes. I’ve fought many internal battles, quitting the “butyls”. It is an accomplishment for sure.
I walked by someone smoking a cig yesterday… ewwww. I forgot how nasty they smell. I smoked for 8 years, no way in hell I would go back. I also sit next to a chain smoker in class, it’s really not an attractive smell. It can turn a pretty girl ugly in a heartbeat.
I gave up RYO cigs in February because I wanted to. I started on snuff last year and hoped I could phase out the cigs gradually, rather than replace them immediately with nicotene gum (which never worked). Worked a treat without any issues. I feel a lot healthier and happier now. I do very occasionally have a puff on my pipe.
