I heard a radio show on twitter the other day. I am not entirely sure what use it will have but i keep reading it is like many new things in that you discover their value only by using it. Like say…email; the internet…and so the list of things I thought would never catch on goes on. So…not to be left behind I signed up. It is now on MrSnuff if you want to follow. It might be useful for me to put little updates on new snuffs or specials or whatever. It is probably more appropriate there than on a general forum. Thoughts welcomed. Also…do you like the new menus? Kudos to Patrick the IT guy!
Sorry to be a thick Limey here but what is Twitter? Stefan
I’m curious too…
You know it sounds kind of daft when you explain it…at least it did to me. But it is supposedly the next big thing. Go to twitter.com and read their little blurb. If you’re anything like me you’ll go “eh??? so what???”. But then if you google it you find that it is being used by millions of people to track networks of other people and sites, news, interests, anything…everything from the totally mundane “I got up today at 6am”; “I just had a bagel for breakfast” type stuff…to as it happens breaking news going to news channels from eye witnesses tweeting on their mobiles (for example the hudson river aircraft ditching). People now use it to collaborate on projects especially when there are multiple constraints or dependencies. In other words it is starting to feel its way into business and more interesting social networks. Most people have it sitting on their cell phone. they track their interests and their friends and it is supposedly free. You ‘follow’ any twitter you are interested in, and whenever that person tweets, you know it. If it is interesting you might tweet the same thing. Anybody who is following you (and not necessarily the person you got the tweet from), now knows. So, for example, you start following MrSnuff tweets because there is rumor he is about to get Chicken Mole flavored snuff from a new Mexican snuff manufacturer and this is a snuff you are really interested in. When it arrives, MrSnuff tweets the fact. Anybody who is following MrSnuff’s tweets now knows. Now you have Twitter too, so you tweet that Chicken Mole Snuff is finally available in the US. The 200 people following your tweets now know, including one of your buddies who hates surfing the net but has a cell phone and also has twitter on his phone. He texts you to place an order for this new snuff, and because he’s your buddy you do. And a whole bunch of people who have never heard of snuff, now know that Chicken Mole snuff is available. So they go check it out because if it interests you it MUST be worth checking out…right? And so it goes. At least that is my newbie interpretation of it. i could be wrong, so if anybody knows better…let us all know. Dave
Man sorry but its too much for me !

I heard that there were some new Dholakia snuffs being made and that they were going to be available soon.

I can’t let myself get involved with Twitter. Seriously. I have enough to be getting on with between all my various MySpace & Facebook accounts, plus fora like this… but good luck with it, mr.snuff!
Thanks Toffeenose. it really is an experiment for me. At the very least it acts like a little news ticker on the website. If you click the icon it pops open. We’ll see how it goes… Dave
@ bigblue1… you took the words right out of my mouth!
I twitter. mine is pretty mundane though. Right now? “Just got back from eating some pizza. Yum.” lol
A strip in this month’s Viz comic had me laughing like a drain. “Fireman Fritter - He’s Got Twitter Up His Shitter.” Genius.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4EoN4nr5FQ Speaking of twitter… hahahahahahaha go check that out
All this talk about twitter. Can everyone send their twitter id and we can share some snuff talk in real time? It might be fun. At least to try… Mine is Bigbuyer Guess you would be surprised by that right??
Sorry but I just don’t get it.
This twitter thing is a bit ridiculous and makes me really wonder about todays youth that they seem to think everyone needs to know what they are doing every minute of the day. I thought the texting constantly thing was bad enough but this is just crazy. I think it could be usefull for advertisement, but on the whole I disagree with the concept. Maybe I am just old and do not get it, but really…but do people really think that highly of themselves that they need to let people know what they are doing that often?

I wish it was still the 80’s.
I can’t imagine surviving without the internet. I wouldn’t even have my business (which I love) if not for the internet.
