I received my shipment of Cotton Boll twist tobacco today from Lil’ Brown. This is interesting. The expectoration is not as dark as with regular chew or plug. just straight tobacco. not as strong as i was lead to believe or maybe it hasn’t hit me yet. has anyone else tried twist tobacco’s?
Sometimes a twist takes longer to get going. Give it time.
I found a local shop that sells Cotton Boll individually for $3 tax inclusive. I found it to be strong as hell, but it was the first time I had ever chewed anything in my life, so I have no standard with which to properly judge. If you grind it into snuff, the nic hit really is huge. That I can properly assess. I also tried it as a cigarette. Again, strong as all get out.
I use Mammoth Cave Twist. It’s an enjoyable chew IMHO. I also smoke it in my pipes on occassion. I prepare it by using a cigar cutter to slice it into discs. Thicker for chewing, thinner & partially rubbed out for the pipe.
I use English twists regularly, usually black ones which are milder than Brown ones but I find their nic hit on par with snus and snuff. Sometimes they cause hiccups though.
