Mine was “deviated” for me in 1997 when I was mugged and beaten while on Christmas leave in the Army. Anyhow, saw a few good postings on this but wanted to let you know a little trick that I use. It’s not very pretty, but it’s quite effective. My nose was smashed to bits and healed in a mightily crooked manner; this can make more coarse and moist snuffs a challenge sometimes (placing them proper for max effect)-- so, I simply take a pinch and put up to nostril, removing thumb gently as with so many other techniques. Then, using the other hand, I run my index finger down the bridge of my snout with a bit of slight pressure until I get to a spot where, when I press, my nose “opens up” quite a bit more. Then I go on and snuff per the normal. This has done wonders for SG snuffs that I especially enjoy. With drier/finer ones, it’s not as much a problem-- at least for me. But, anyhow, hope this is helpful to other snuff takers with septum problems.

Oh, I also should add: Please share your technique(s) on snuffing with a bashed up snout!

i guess it depends on the ‘unique’ shape of the nostrils. i havent found an effective method yet, but i usually just block up the more open nostril with a different snuff, usually firedrac or viking dark. then i use the medium-fine snuffs.
