I’m dissapointed I can’t give Tom my money anytime soon. In my double sided box I ALWAYS have one side of Rooster, and the other a mix of Three Thisles strong, Dholakia White, and a little Toque. I’m curiouse if anyone has tried to travel in/out of the US with snuff. I’m headed to the D.R. in December and don’t know how it’ll go over in customs. Any ideas? Thanks.

Lots of American snuffs still in stock and a lot cheaper than buying in the UK, even with postage from the US. Maybe he will still have some in December. Just a thought.

I flew from Denver, Co to Charlotte, NC to Phillipsburg, Sint Maarten with 3 tins in my pocket, they never bothered to look inside the tins. This happened both ways too. so Interstate and International flights are no problem in my experience. But yours might bary depending on the security’s attitude that day.

Thanks for the info guy’s. I’ll make sure to take my snuff in smash boxes, and a 1.15 can of Rooster so I don’t lose my better boxes. I just hope they don’t think the powder is dope. I sure won’t be taking my Dholakia White with. The thing is, if it’s in tins, they probably just consider it “lip” snuff. I suppose I could put it in empty Touqe tins as they have a “screw” top. I’m just dissapointed that I can’t buy from Tom (from Florida to Wisconsin) as he gave me a lot of great advise when I started consistantly using snuff. I’ll figure out a way like was suggested above. By December when I’m in the D.R. it wouldn’t be efficient for me to order snuff from Florida to be shipped south then carry it on a plane back to Wisconsin. I only feel like an idiot for lot looking in SEARCH before I asked the initial question in this post. My problem with coffee is I have anxiety issues as it is, so when the coffee kicks in I almost need a xanax right away. Trick is keeping the coffee intake low so I don’t need the meds. The other day I overdid it while fishing by smoking a wonderful Drew Estates Dirt Torpedo cigar while still keeping my snuff intake up. I almost got sick. That, was stupid. In June, when Tom was so nice to me, I made sure I sent him several kinds of my favorite cigars. NOTE: I have two small humidors full of quality cigars right now and I’m only smoking 2 or three a week. About $500 worth in stock. If anyone would like to trade a few good cigars for a sample of White Elephant, let me know. I’ve got ton’s of different Drew Estate and Gurka brands.

Never had any problems, including in and out of the States. The only time I got asked about it was in the UK once and when I told the customs officer what it was she asked me where she could get hold of snuff as she wanted to stop smoking. This is a fairly frequent thread - Ive come to the conclusion that the customs folks are pretty clued up. We tend to think we are the only people that travel with snuff but it must be quite common given the growing popularity.

Good. I know around my area my father and I are the snuff pushers. Smoking finally was banned in bars back in June, not a lot of people around here like snus, although I use it heavily when I’m working or hunting. The bar owners are getting sick of people spitting on floors. (When I tended bar I would always use two plastic cups with napkins so no-one had to look at the nasty.) Some people are taking on to the snuff, I’ve gone through 60 or so “sample” vials to give away. I’m sure once I get to the larger cities more people will be more used to seeing it.

Can tobacco still be advertised in the states? It it can its got a good chance of taking off big style. All ads are banned in the UK so I think that will hold it back here as apart from websites its virtually a word of mouth type thing.

I see tobacco ad’s in Wisconsin. As of now I would think it’s a state by state issue. Just getting the manufacturer’s to advertise would be a trick. Being such a large and diverse country one would assume snuff to be more announced than it is.

Well, there’s an untapped goldmine in this stuff - I think we are getting to the point where it will be illegal to smoke anyplace other than your own home.

While you are waiting to go abroad to order from tom, might be worth looking at www.snuffstore.co.uk. No american snuffs but reasonable collection of english and european snuffs at fair prices and they accept orders from US. Dont know what postage would be. No doubt its there somewhere on the site.

I’ve ordered from Toque before via Royal Mail. Not too expensive and not too slow. Apparently I can order from Mr. Snuff, and already through these blogs I’ve figured out other way’s of obtaining my favorite’s. @snuffster… I’m friends with a few smoke shop managers and they have issues in regards to taxes and the ATF with variouse products. Some suppliers add the tax, and some don’t. If someone were to sell locally, the had better make sure they have all that straightened out. At Deaf Ear Records in La Crosse WI, my buddie’s wife being the manager, she had the ATF come in an confiscate a whole bunch of stuff due to a misunderstanding with her supplier about taxes. Even though she buys from US Smokeless, as of now all she can get are moist snuff’s. For some reason even her supplier can’t get her Rooster. I’ve talked to US Smokeless for the sake of it, and the rep I talked to didn’t even know what dry snuff was, and he couldn’t even find Rooster, or the others, in the computer system. I was hoping to get free stuff out of it, but no luck. I’ve also spoken with managment at two other strictly tobacco shops, (no “head” shops) and they can’t seem to get anything but Garrett. I have a liscense in Wisconsin to sell tobacco and alchohol (aka bartenders liscense) but don’t think the local market would support for me to take a trip and buy in bulk for local non-net sales. I wouldn’t even know how to handle the ATF. As it is, I moonlight as a hunting and fishing guide in the state which also requires a liscense. I’ve already had issues with the IRS in regards to 1044’s or whatever tax form it is I’m supposed to fill out. I don’t make a living guiding at least yet, so I don’t worry too much, but the ATF scares the hell out of me.

Longtime since last post. I’ve been searching for shops around the Dominican lately. If anyone has advise as far as obtaining snuff to ship back, please let me know. I’m thinking of bulk amounts of South African snuff.

Worst case scenario is going through customs they will check out the snuff, the perform a quick test where they drop a little bit in a little vial and if a liquid turns purple inside the vial then you have coke/weed/hash etc etc. Obviously this won’t happen so no worries. Some snuffs, (Toque Peanut Butter comes to mind) looks like busted up Hash though which is where I can see a problem possibly occurring.

I spoke with my tax atty. today. He tried, and enjoyed an oral pinch of Taxi Plain Red. However: in his expierience in South Africa, (4 hunting trips) he has seen little to know snuff use. In matter of fact, he travels with extra “logs” of Copenhagen. Now, he’s more in country vs. the city’s, so maybe he hasn’t been exposed. So much for that idea!
