I will be going on vacation on Friday and need to travel with my snuffs. The three “tins” I will be taking are made of cardboard. Now normally I would not care about this but It has happened over my last school year that carrying a tin of snuff just unprotected in a bag with other items in it may result in it getting crushed and or spilling the contents all over the bag. This has happened to me more than once and I was quite displeased. Now I ask you snuffhouse, what should I do? Should I invest in a box to keep all my snuffs (not a snuff box per se but more of a protective box in which I will keep my snuffs)? What do you do when traveling with snuff in general? Thank you in advance!

I would recommend emptying them into tins and creating a seal with tape. They may get dented but they will stand up better than your average cardboard tube. Also, if waste is a big concern, keep each snuff (in a tin/tube) in its own bag then throw all the bags into one larger bag. That way, if any tins leak, at least you won’t end up with a big messy mix of snuffs. Enjoy the vacation!

Thank you for the advice! What kind of tins would work well? I dont have any actual snuff tins I can use. What about rinsing out some snus tins really well or would the flavor/scent still mix? Also I like the idea of seperate bags and such.

Any plastic food container is good for snuff tins when travelling, you must have some of those at home. Snus cans like snuff tins can be recycled, just wash and rinse until fragrance is gone. Gotlands snus has the best cans around.

I would suggest a heavy duty plastic box like a Pelican brand. There are knock offs available. True Pelican’s are not cheap, but depending on your budget they are the best.

They sell these tiny tupperware containers at walmart that have a screw top lid in like 4 pack for $2 or something like that. Those should work. Ken

Smashboxes from snuffgear or mrsnuff are the best imho. The Lacons I believe they’re called. They come in all kinds of sizes and a bit of colored electrical tape to complete the seal and you’re golden! That’s how I store most of my snuff these days. I need more smashboxes too now that I think about it…
