I recently wrote to Roderick mentioning to him that I have been unable to find the Toque USA snuffs here in my area of the USA. Here is what he wrote in return. “Firstly, we know a lot of American customers struggle to find ToqueUSA and [we] are about to put it on our site… All of the ToqueUSA are different from the European Toque, the blend, base and flavours all differ in subtle and not so subtle ways.” This is interesting info and great news! As a big fan of Toque snuffs, I am looking forward to being able to sample the ToqueUSA line. I told Roderick that I would post this information here on Snuffhouse as I thought many of us would be interested…
The Toque USAs are really good. After what seemed like months, my local Smoker Friendly shop suddenly had the entire line! I find them all quite good, as good as the European versions. I wish they came in larger sizes, but 10 gram screw tops are fine. I have the chocolate right here as I type. It is smooth and delicious. The spearmint, what can I say? IMO it is better than Crumbs of Comfort. Perhaps less sweet, but really excellent. The Spanish Brandy is every bit as good, or better than Spanish Jewel. Lime is rather like lime toast and I mixed mine in w/a bit of Toque Almond Toast to fatten up the toastiness. I think Roderick did a fantastic job with these snuffs. All the ones I’ve tried I like. Even the Rum and Cola is spot on in flavor. The funny thing is that the owner of this shop, a cigarette smoking, rather dour woman, told me a year ago that she wouldn’t carry nasal snuff any longer. She had Silver Dollar, and other than me, the only person to buy any was a strange guy who dumped into his lower lip. When she told me this, I said this is NASAL snuff! The kind the kings of Europe, Napoleon, and such guys did back in the 18th century. She looked at me like I was a freak, that any sane person would only smoke or put tobacco in their mouth, never in their nose. I see I’m blathering on, the result of too much snuff and coffee… just had to comment.
Ha ha, that’s funny. Stopped into the new RYO/Vapor store here and town and asked if they were going to be carrying snuff. The lady pointed me to the display of chew and snus. I said “no, nasal snuff” and made the pinch to the nose. She’d never heard of it, and kept a nervous eye on my until I left the premises.
This is great news <:-P I had been wanting to try ,but nobody carries nasal snuff locally
Stoked indeed.
Brilliant news. @Roderick can look forward to me pestering him to sell me them in bulk. :-"
I just heard from Roderick with regard to when the site will offer the ToqueUSA tins. Here is what Roderick wrote: “I had hoped for the end of this month but we’re already behind schedule so probably mid next month.” For my part, I am especially looking forward to trying the Black Cherry and the Spanish Brandy. And now that I know from what Roderick wrote that was quoted in the opening post of this thread, I want to try the Espresso as well, knowing that it will be different from the Toque version. But I will no doubt try all of them.
Stoked as well…something good as well as new to look forward to throwing my pennies at. salud @Roderick he’s always doing something good for the gents!
I’m stoked! Touque USA Kentucky Bourbon is terrific and impossible to find here in the USA.
Good to know about the Kentucky Bourbon. There are very few reviews of the Toque USA line on snuffreviews.com so I have decided I am just going to try them all. I have been surprised too many times by snuffs that i did not think I would like, only to find that I really like them-- quite a bit in some cases. So, given Roderick’s blending and mixing talents, I don’t want to miss out here. Of course, having said that, I will still avoid anything with moderate to heavy menthol provided I have advanced warning. At least I have learned that much about my own snuff preferences.
Wow do I feel out of the loop, I thought Toque USA was SD :o
Just recently received an update from Roderick on Toque USA being placed and available on the Toque website. Here is what he said: “It’s going slowly and we are way behind schedule. I blame Silver Dollar. Sales are really going well in the US and orders just keep coming and coming. Which takes up all of our time on the tinning line. I hope to get on top of ToqueUSA next week but time will tell.” And there is the latest news on this subject.
