Hello all. I haven’t posted here in quite a bit. In fact, I haven’t snuffed much at all lately except for my usual pinches of O&G during my golf outings. But I recently picked up a tin of Toque W&H from my collection for a change of pace. Wow. What a tremendous snuff! I don’t know why I didn’t fully appreciate this snuff when I first purchased it. But I have really been enjoying it as of late. And it has renewed my interest in snuffing in general. Nice smokey start that mellows into a sweet, warm tobacco at the end. Good stuff!

Indeed! This is the best Toque toast so far imo. A splendid mixture.

It was highly recommended on snuffhouse when i joined and i expected it to be good but i was quite impressed when i got my tin. I almost always have it some with me.

I was hanging out with my brothers-in-law this weekend, and one of their friends saw me take a pinch. Well, he was intrigued, and I pulled out about five tins, and we all had a snufftasting session. Keep in mind only one of the four of them had ever tried snuff, and only two were smokers. I had Poschl President, F&T HDT, my Chocolate Cherry Coke blend, a Schmalzler and Toque Whiskey & Honey. I have a W&H bullet that I refill from a tin, because I love it so much. They all loved the W&T so much I left them the (full, well now half full) bullet and told them where to buy it. I had tried to warn them that it was the least friendly of the bunch for new snuffers, but they actually took it quite easily, and one really appreciated the HDT as well. I was surprised. I think I created a monster, or at least four new snuffers!

I still have a 1 year old tin, and even like it more than fresh Whiskey & Honey, seems to be a good snuff to storage.

Just got my 25g tin of it in the mail today. Its the only snuff I’ve reordered as of right now (well that and Toque Natural), as I’m trying to try many different kinds, and I remembered after opening the tin and giving it a good smell how much I missed it.

sounds to me like one of the greatest snuff flavours ever. I really wanna try it. is toque still doing the free sample thing?

I know this is the whiskey and honey thread, but I think toast and marmalade deserves just as much praise!

Yes, the Toast and Marmalade is great too. It depends on what day it is which one I like more.

i definitely do love the marmalade, but i’m not big on fruit scents. but i do love it, which is saying something. I think the awesome base tobacco, toast and grind are phenomenal in toque toasts. I only wish there were a few more varieties. (hint hint) and i wish there were USA stores with the bacon and cheese. that’s a toast, right?

Well, I broke down and ordered a 50g bag of each: Cheese & Bacon and Bourbon, the two toasts I have not yet tried. Looking forward to it.

Watch out for the Cheese & Bacon. Once it has ahold of you, it won’t let go!

I’ve snuffed around 30g of W&H in the last year - it is one of the finest snuffs available. @cstokes4: LOL! Now you know how I’ve felt about C&B for the past few months! I really have to try NOT to take a tin out with me every day, it’s so addictive!

I think we can all just agree that Roderick knows what he is doing. I think it’s just natural that each one of us has our own favorites and that’s what’s great about Toque. If we all wanted Whisky and Honey all the time, what would be the point in making all the others. So, whether you want a straight up regular menthol, sp, fruit, or some completely off the wall, only a whack job could love flavor like Cheese and Bacon, well, they got that too. Just funning on the CB, I’ve yet to try it, but I know it’s gotta be good.

I’m not a huge fan of W&H, but it makes a bloody good mixer with the coke!

I just tried whiskey and honey. Great stuff. Why didn’t I try it sooner? Up to now I have used snuffs from 4 manufacturers. The W&H is so good I will have to try all the Toques.

You won’t be sorry. Try the other toasts: Marmalade, Cheese & Bacon, Bourbon. Then I can’t really recommend the Toffee enough. I’m sorry I only bought 10g, its almost gone. I like the vanilla a lot and also the Spanish Gem as well. Hell, buy them all. I haven’t found one I DON’T like yet.

I agree. Some of them are a bit odd, like Royal Georges, but even that one I enjoy on occasion.

I’m liking the W&H even better in the autumn weather for some reason.

the hdt the whiskey and honey and my fubar grunt all seem to go perfectly with the fall weather. Really accentuates the leave smell. Wonderfull.

After using about half a 10g tin of Whisky Honey in a few days, I just wanted to say Rodrick was brilliant to come up with this. It is easy enough on the nose for newbies, but stout enough for the experienced. On top of that it does not clog the sinuses so you can toot as much as you want as often as you want, and most of all it is delicious.

Yes it’s another of Toque’s gems is this one. Finished a 10g tin late last night, pleased to say that I’ve another in stock.

@Nachman and Snuff Head, I was so eager to ensure that I don’t run out of stock that I’ve ordered another 25g tin without knowing that I have a full tin in the freezer. So now I have a 10g tin as well as two 25g tins. But, I don’t mind at all!

The Toque Toasts are all dead brilliant! I just finished 2 bags with 100g Bourbon and Whiskey and Honey! Now I’m making a break of 4 weeks before I order new bags so my pleasant anticipation grows and grows! So now it’s time to test the rest of the Toque-diamonds!

Just picked up a bottle of Seagram’s 7 Dark Honey Whiskey. I gotta say, the flavor of Toque W&H has burned me. I am pinching W&H and sipping W&H, and the pinches are more satisfying my craving for W&H flavor than this stuff. Real whiskey and real honey in this bottle, and yet the snuff is kicking its arse.

That’s cause seagrams should stick to ginger ale or that could just be my opinion of their one alchoolic product I tried years ago, that was sitting under someone counter in a dusty bottle thats cork was turning into powder. Just saying I could go for some ginger ale.

Another one in my 10 pack sample order. Gotta say this one is GREAT, well it would be GREAT if I got my toast snuffing method down better. Oddly I seem to be better at snuffing toasts in one nostril vs the other. Oh well, practice practice. This toast is encouraging me to practice my technique. just a WONDERFUL snuff. I wasn’t blown away by W&H at first, but I kept it around and almost two years later went back to it. Now I like it quite a bit better. Funny.

ahhh just had to pick up the W & H while reading this…mmmmm also, the bourbon goes great with a nice glass of Woodford Reserve!!

Woodford Reserve is a superb bourbon. It’s very hard to get in the UK but I know a shop that sells nothing but whisky in Bakewell that sells it. Bloody good stuff. The site I believe is this : www.weedram.co.uk don’t know if they ship abroad though. Stefan

@Walrus1985: It is indeed a lovely bourbon, but I don’t find it that hard to locate. Both my local Sainsburys and Waitrose stock it.

@Brad ah right I didn’t realise that but we haven’t got a Waitrose or Sainsbury’s round here, we are a Tesco town unfourtunately. Is it me or are Tesco trying to take over the world? Within a 10 mile radius there are 4 big shops with plans for another one still in this 10 mile patch. I’m thouroughly sick of Tesco and all they stand for. If this new one gets built there will be at least 20 independent shops go bust. Not good. Stefan

I’ve likely said it before in another thread, but it bears repeating. I’m not a big fan of toasts and Scotches, but I really enjoy W&H, and wouldn’t be without a supply. Just received another 50g today. And cheers to you UK snuffers who have discovered the joys of Woodford Reserve. Those of us here in the bourbon capital of the world are naturally proud of our fine distilled spirits.

Ive still yet to try this offering from Toque. I meant to include a 25g tin of it on my last order with Mr snuff, but alas it slipped my mind. I will definitely be getting some on my next order tho, as I am sure this is right up my alley. Its something to look forward to anyway XD

maybe you have a old tin?mine still smells like honey,don’t get much whisky though.its a 25gram tin and it must be 5 months old and seems to be as good as the day I opened it.It is very good.

I have only had the Toque USA model of this flavor, but I believe I’m correct that its the same formula as the original? because I have only found the USA version while on trips out of state, but if its the same, I’m thinking I would order 50 grams to stash away.

if I was you that’s what I would do!get stocked up when you find it.dont know how fresh would be but this flavor toque stays good for along time anyway in my experience.

@zonesix Not sure how Royal George got into this thread. Definitely not a toast and not from Toque. I like it very much but somewhat strong so mix with a neutral snuff about 50/50.

I smell the whiskey. I’ve added whiskey to plain snuff and it smells different then it does from a glass

I guess I’m going to have to try this one too, lol.

maybe the honey flavored whiskeys would be useful to make some homebrew W&H snuff? :-?

I have just got a tin of Toque W&H. This snuff is so good that should be illegal. I can’t stop digging into it. I can taste the honey that fades into whiskey after a a minute or so! This is a “Bipolar” snuff… probably the best I had so far from Toque (including Spanish Gem which is my everyday snuff). I am happy that I got the 25g tin.

It’s incredibly good. It’s a strange snuff to me because I binge on it for awhile and then leave it alone for some time. Then I binge on it again. The only other one that strikes me that way is Toque Bourbon and I’ve been out of that one for awhile.

To me, the Toque Whiskey & Honey is a truly good snuff, no doubt. But I actually like the Toque USA version of Whiskey & Honey even better. That stuff is fantastic and in my view is a must try.

Thank you @Stogie! I am tempted to believe that some folks would not try the Toque USA Whiskey & Honey thinking that it is pretty much the same as the older, more established Toque version. To me, that is simply an unfortunate mistake. I must admit that I am very much looking forward to the Toque USA Spanish Brandy. According to Roderick, it should be coming out any time now. I am very excited to try it.

@derek_007 To the nose, the Toque Whiskey & Honey has those great flavors on the Toque Natural base, which is quite tasty and pleasant. However, the Toque USA Whiskey & Honey has more complexity and a toasty flavor added along with the addition of the more grassy Rustica. But this is especially interesting to me as the herbal grassy Rustica has been toasted and is consequently very tasty indeed. The grassy Rustica flavor, to me, seems to be reduced and thus, the overall flavor becomes greatly improved by the toasting and there is little or no residual grassy flavor, to my nose anyway. Here is Roderick’s description from the Toque website which also includes his advice about the nic kick… “As requested, Our most popular snuff flavour [I assume he is referring to Whiskey & Honey] on a base of toasted tobaccos’ and blended with toasted Rustica. This snuff is the strongest snuff on the market today and must be handled with care. Not for the novice snuffer.” Hope this helps.
