Toque USA Whiskey and Honey

Toque’s Whiskey and Honey is one of my go to snuffs. My favorite combination is a Bernard’s schmalzler, followed by Whiskey and Honey. I was excited to hear about the new release of a new version of Whiskey and Honey. Toque’s description of the USA version is that it is made with a rustica tobacco. I must say, the USA version, if possible, is an improvement on the original. The USA version is a very fine grind with a light brown tobacco, lighter than the original version. The USA version is sweeter and more pronounced…this could be because the USA version has just arrived in my mailbox and I’ve had the original longer. This Whiskey and Honey has a wonderful aroma. Immediately, I get a rush of honey. The whiskey comes as the second note behind the honey. Snuffing this brings to mind Cheetah, or Dhalokia White due to the grind. It’s definitely not as fine of a powder as the mentioned snuffs, but it requires control when sniffing, or you’ll get a punch in your lungs and a cough reflex. With that said, I feel that this is the strongest of the Toques regarding nicotine. In comparison with Quit, SP Extra and Spanish Gem, I can assure you that you’ll feel a strong pronounced nicotine rush. Toque USA’s Whiskey and Honey will now go in every snuff order I make and is my favorite of the Toque line. Excellent job Roderick on improving on what was already a masterpiece!

@ravenhorse W & H is a favorite to be sure. I no longer feel the vitamin N as I once did, guess I’m immune. Making the USA version with Rustica was a great idea, IMHO

The USA version is one of my favorites as well. It is a good bit sweeter and potent than the original and one of the few snuffs that I find that gets better as it “ages” in my daily box.

Always on my list … USA whisky and Honey, Spanish Gem and SP Extra

Just opened my first tin of this today. Makes my nose run like hell, but I like it very much. Great snuff! Where´s my hankie …

I’ve been enjoying this one for a while now. Toque snuffs have been a bit hit or miss for me, (but I’ve only tried a few: Camphor & Clove, Ginger, Spanish Gem, SD Natural, SD Original, SD Spearmint, SD Apricot) but this one is a winner. My usual complaint with Toque snuffs is that I often find them a bit too sweet for my palate, and this one is sweet for sure, but it works. The sweet honey aroma is tempered nicely by a dark, smokey scent in this one and I think that’s what makes it work. It’s more like Honey & Campfire to my nose, or maybe even Barbecue (sans meat). I don’t really get a whiskey note, but it still suits me just fine. Speaking of fine, that is accurate regarding the grind. A little less silky and volatile than Sparrow Cool; I’d say it’s close to Dragun in this regard. Never got the dread cough from it, but some watery eyes and throat-hit if I’m too enthusiastic (or careless). And similar to Dragun, the vitamin N boost is no joke. Made my nose run a bit too, but after a gentle blow I was all cleared up and no aroma lost. A very well done and unique snuff.

I must try this one. My ;local store carries all the Toque USAs except W&H, and Spanish Brandy. I found the Kentucky Bourbon to be excellent. A toast actually, fine and dry, full of flavor. @Shavasana, you should try it, and Sp Brandy if you can find it. Its deeper in scent than Sp Gem, and a little sweeter, but its very good for sure. I also just got a big bag of Berwick Brown. Really great, fresh and finer ground than it used to be. Can’t place the scent, but its very unique. In fact, I’m going to do a couple of pinches after I finish this sentence.

@Roderick Is whiskey and honey USA available in the larger tins ? Just looked on the site and could not see it at all, only the regular one … ? hope its just my eye sight :-B

where do you live? I’d love to walk into a store and find a selection like that.

I like to have this in an economy bag

The USA W&H is one of my very favorite Toque snuffs. It can be a bit sweet initially but once the tin is opened and used a bit it mellows out a good deal. I think this is one snuff that actually may even get better with a little age on it so I have 20 or so tins put away for down the road. Maybe someday this will be available in economy bags.

Will Spanish Brandy be coming back? I would like to try it.

That’s cool, I don’t feel like i’m missing out on anything then. Spanish Gem is by far my new favorite snuff along with W&H. “Toque it or leave it”

Toque USA Whiskey and Honey; a masterpiece.

My local headshop has Sp. Brandy. I asked the owner to order it for me, like maybe a year ago…maybe a little longer. Anyway… he did as I asked, and in among the Silver Dollar snuffs he carries, are Sp Brandy, and Peach, which he also ordered for me. So, from the thread I have surmised that only Spanish Gem is now made, and not Spanish Brandy??? Fortunately, I just bought a tin the other day, and asked if he had more, to which he told me that he did. Maybe I’ll go back and buy the rest of them.

@Roderick Can we expect Toque USA w&h available in a larger tin some time soon

@Derek_007 They have it in Economy bags

I ordered an economy bag of the W&H just this week. Can’t wait to try it. Its on the newly revamped Toque site. Go check it out… I went there just to see if they had it, since the postings on this page sounded so positive. I ended up ordering a bunch of others which I like. Am trying Lavender for the 1st time after enjoying the SG of the same name. I know it won’t be dark and coarse, but I’m betting it’ll be great. I find all the Toque florals have great, natural scents, esp. the strawberry. I never like that scent in snuff until I tried the Toque…it smelled like real, honest to goodness fresh strawberries. @Derek_007 , I think the toque website has all the USA snuffs in economy bags now. Check it out.

Yep, all the USA snuffs are available in bags. Here’s a quick link for you: http://www.toquesnuff.com/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=prodsearchp&gbu0--prodsearch--string=toque+usa+economy

Now I see what everyones talking about. This is a really good snuff. When I opened the bag and took several, rapid-fire pinches, the nicotine rush was strong. The scenting is strong too. Almost sweet, but not too much, I also get the whiskey, but as an after note. I’m really impressed, and enjoying it quite a lot.
