Is there anyway to get one yet? I would like one that says “Dont Smoke- Just Toque” Just wondering if any were available. I would gladly wear one that said the above statement.
I agree. I would wear such a shirt with pride. Hopefully he can sell them for less than Alex was asking for the Snuffhouse shirts (came to around $40 USD…I’d love to support Snuffhouse, but I don’t have that kind of paper for a t-shirt). Get on it Roderick! ~Snuffy
‘Donk smoke’? lol
I love typing errors. =]
Nice idea, how about a free giveaway(hint, hint) to the first 5 who reply to this thread excluding Roderick?(hint, hint) lol
T-SHIRT IDEA I’d like to see some old drawings of snuff takers. Kind if like this one… I’ve always enjoyed finding old snuff advertisements and such. But base it around the Toque logo or something. I don’t know. I’m not a designer.
Me too, get some xxl plse!!
I fixed the typing error, lol. I have a few snus t-shirts that 2 companies were generous enough to give me and are quite tasteful and i wear them regularly. Keep us to date Roderick, i would definately love to have one and would wear it proudly, and i like the adding of old school snuff photos but maybe crackle the print or somehow make the image look vintage. Just an idea
Yeah I think I’ve bothered him a few times to get some apparel items like a hat or shirt but it does take some good money to get an inventory started before you can see a return on it. Something like these sold here but with Toque would be great.

Would be nice to see what roderick comes up with and thens posts the designs either here or on their website and we could vote on them or something.
I love Toque snuff , but really don’t care much for the logo… For some reason it just looks cheesy to me.
Sorry Roderick for being critical, but if we are discussing logos I have to say I feel your design is by far the worst of all of the companies. But what your logo lacks in style, your product makes up for with quality and your service is far and beyond. I know redesigning a logo is a major expense, but I would love to see a new logo unveiled down the road maybe for the T-Shirt?
I don’t really dig the toque logo much either too modern for my taste. Though I like it from a bussiness sense it does express accuratly the moderninty of the product which otherwise then quality is the legs that toque stands on. Then again I don’t really care what the label is and again I could tell right away from the label this is a new company not one of tradition. Then again I think the G H tins are ugly as sin yet I keep buying them too. Sorry roderick adore the snuff though and will proabably be needing a new order sometime soon (though definatly waiting for the porter.)
I have to agree. There is a serious disjunction between the exquisite quality of Toque’s snuff and the logo. It’s a modern logo, but that’s not the problem. It’s just not a classy design–even disregarding the ‘don’t smoke- snuff toque’ part, which places it too close to nicorette gum.
Theres always the ones merdock69 & satyr messed around with when we were talking about a toque old fashioned collectors tins on Toque Old Fashioned Tins
I would use the lettering for ‘toque snuff’ from the tin above, centre of the t-shirt, abouta fifth of ther area, that would look cool
I personally like the bigger logos on the back of shirt with maybe a small logo on the front breast area. But either way would be great.
As I’ve said I like it from a marketing stand point. I just thinking they aren’t so pretty on my shelf that is all. Though if you wanted to go for modern you could have made them more Hip-Hop or maybe more modern Heavy Metal with skulls and dragons.
I would be happy with any of the variants to be honest. Would this be a loss loser for you Roderick?
Do you know the ad about Cremora which, when the guy was looking inside the fridge for the stuff was told by his wife: “It’s not inside, it’s on top”. Now, the Toque logo is on top, not inside. What matters is the contents of the tin, not the logo. I quite like the modern, speedy look of the Toque logo. I LUV Toque Snuff
I honestly would never have tried Toque if it hadn’t been for the reviews on this site. The labels look like its a product that was designed as a utilitarian way to help people quit smoking rather than an artistic creation created with care and expertise. However, if it works to catch the eye of people who have never tried snuff before, then that’s impossible to argue with. But I’m skeptical.
I have to say in bussiness brand recognition is more important then asthetics. Getting the image in mind makes more impact. For example I remember the logo which means when I hear someone comment on the product I make the connection. If the brand name and logo doesn’t stick even if you hear good things the connection is never made and all the posotive things you hear never get tied together into one idea in the mind. Ugly is the new pretty.
It wouldn’t even matter to me what was on the shirt. I just want to support Toque. Heh. ~Snuffy
Bob- it is definitely true that some of the most successful commercials are the most annoying ones, but I can’t see your logic working for, say, fine wine. Malt liquor, maybe.
My newbie opinion, I like the logo and can see the connection to the company as a Modern snuff manufactorer that thinks “Outside the Box” from traditional companies. Maybe a different background color for a shirt? Say, light blue denim? I know the yellow is to make the can stand out but, I have shirts this color and, none of the logo’s look too good. Just mho.
I personally don’t care what the logo looks like on anything. Thats not what I’m buying it for. I buy it for whats inside. I do think what would look the best is a black shirt with the yellow logo. It would also stand out better as advertisement when you wear it.
I’ve noticed that in my opinion a lot of fine wines have some pretty carpy labels. Nothing says quality like we don’t waste money on the labels.
That’s because you’re smart, bob and troutstroker. Most people aren’t.
Yep, I ain’t got the smarts real good like trout, bob and you badbusinessman. Cuz I be likin dem fancy labels and whatnot. Jus da perty ones for me. Guess you could say I’m in da majority wit all dem udder not so smart ones who get all happy and such and break out da banjos when dey see dem labels full of all dat razz-ma-tazz.
I have to admit I don’t like Toque’s logo either. When you’re talking about advertising a good logo is important. When you’re an established brand it matters less. Now that many new people are trying snuff they may actually pick products based on the look. Old snuffers know the established brands but new people don’t know anything when they start. So they are going to pick what looks good to them and it may not be the best snuff, but the best packaged snuff. Roderick’s best attributes are hidden away, from what I read…great snuff and great tins. But you can’t open a tin or take a pinch in most shops, so how will anybody know? If he gets turned off by the logo and buys some chrome plated snuff package he will miss the best… I agree old fashioned looks are good when it comes to traditional products like snuff. There are some sites where people can say “I want a logo for xyz and I’ll pay x dollars to the winner” and a lot of people will do logos and post them on the site. It’s a good way to support starving artists and get good artwork. I know of at least one company that actually did this instead of paying an ad firm for their artwork.
If your product is good enough, you don’t need advertising, just word of mouth. Like bespoke snuffs. Its been a long time since I’ve seen this sold with any logo or even a proper container. They are sold in just bags or smashboxes depending on where you buy it & yet they still sell because people are buying it for what it is, a good snuff. I don’t carry tins anyway so doesn’t matter to me what it comes in or how it looks. I learned a long time ago that a great logo or packaging doesn’t mean your getting a great product.
Never criticized the product. And I can personally care less what kind of package it comes in myself. Thought this forum was for sharing opinions on all things snuff related… So I thought I’d share my objective opinion with Roderick and maybe spark some others opinions also. It did, some stated they didn’t like the logo, others stated they did. My problem came when those of us who did share an opinion were unjustifiably classed into a group that is not as smart as the people who chose to state they didn’t care what the logo looked like as long as the product was good. Well no kidding??? Us folks who shared their opinion on the Toque logo are all way too dumb to know you don’t sniff a logo (blatant sarcasm)… Anyways, I still thought Roderick valued our opinion’s, that’s one of the reason’s he visits this site. I’ve shared my opinions on Toque products many times and don’t appreciate being classed as stupid when attempting to share an opinion once again… No doubt the site has changed in the nearly 2 years I’ve been around. I’d never leave and nobody should care if I did anyways, but for now I prefer to become a silent member, as lately too many things posted here seem to be pissing me off. From sarcastic responses to peoples questions and opinions, people speaking down to others, and just out-right goofiness from others, this place has slowly become less fun for me. I’ll let this post be the last of which I allow myself to get sucked into this type of nonsense. No hard feelings towards anyone, to each his own…
Poo-Diddy, that’s not the kind of smart I’m talking about. People with high IQs and expensive educations spend ridiculous amounts of money on branded crap. That’s dumb. Flashy packaging gets most people to buy stuff regardless of its quality. Packaging can make most people think something has quality even if its cheap crap. It can also make most people believe something is crap even if its quality. If it didn’t work, corporations wouldn’t spend billions on marketing research each year to figure out how to influence the minds of their consumers with razz-ma-tazz.
I didn’t see your next post, Poo-Diddy, before I posted the above one. I’m not sure who you’re reacting to. I certainly wasn’t calling anyone here stupid, and didn’t mean to imply that anyone who liked the Toque label was stupid. I don’t even think the label is bad. I just didn’t think it matches the product well. I was just discussing marketing in general, which is what I do for a living. Sorry if you thought I was calling you stupid. Do you need a Breathalyzer on your computer?
Well badbusinessman, after reading through the entire thread, maybe I took your comment of “That’s because you’re smart, bob and troutstroker. Most people aren’t.” out of context. In fact I’m sure I did, so my apologies… I still stand by my last paragraph though, and this is a perfect example why I need to step back and shut my mouth for a while…
No… I’m not drunk. Just for some reason too easilly offended by some of the comments here lately. When that starts to happen, espescially in an online forum, I feel it is wise to back off before you start to become part of the problem yourself. And today I have…
No problem, Poo-Diddy. I hope I’m not contributing to your having less fun here. I think it’s a great place, but I’m new.
stress!! I think it makes people more sensitive sometimes. I know it does for me. It becomes a lot easier to take things the wrong way when you deal with stuff all the time. Especialy when you are trying to relax.
Brian - You are right. I once offended someone in a whisper with what I though was a joke but as it lacked any inflection typed it didn’t read right. And there probably is a bit of edginess what with all that shil and troll stuff last week. I think Poo-Diddy has a pretty mature view on this though, there are times when being a silent member is probably best. With hindsight, I wish I had kept my fat mouth shut when it was all going on.
