Got some on the way. Can’t wait to try it!
i think the SP extra uses quit as its base, im not 100% on that though.
The Toque extra is a great snuff for sure. My current SP choices howeer are J and H SP No 1 and WoS SP 100. The J and H has a kind of rough edge to it that I really like, like smoking some cheap but satisfying cigarette. The 100 is fine and fluffy and when straight out of a new can is delicious, but one of those that really loses its flavour quickly when the moisture starts to go.
I thought SP Extra used quit as a base too.Just finshed my 25 gram tin of SP extra.
I’ve got a 50g of this coming soon along with the Original. As an SP fan, these are high on my gradually diminishing “to try” list. Toque SP Extra may just end up being my daily snuff…the reviews seem promising to say the least! If this one doesn’t reach the top of my list, it will still likely be in the company of Wilson’s of Sharrow Grand Cairo and Tom Buck as my favorite SPs. I don’t recall being very impressed with any of other SP varieties I’ve tried thus far (McChrystal’s, SP100, Gold Label, Best SP, S.S., Queen’s, G&H’s, an old tin of SG SP No 1 HM), but they were each nice in their own way.
Im a diehard fan of the original, one of those rare things: a perfect snuff.
I agree with snuffster on this one. Although I bought 100G of Sp Extra on a “whim”, I’m anticipating a 25 gram tin of Original to show up, it really is a perfect snuff. The Sp Extra is a Great snuff indeed, no doubt it was my first bulk purchase, I just find it to be a little stingy, maybe i need to let it air for an hour or 2 before I cap the snuff box.
For me SP Extra is perfect for mixing it with Quit. I like it 1/5 SP Extra and 4/5 Quit. Tastes really nice and is strong…
SP Extra is great snuff on its own but Uwe-mix is tempting!
Quit is the base used in SP Extra so adding Quit to SP Extra is just watering down the flavouring, you aren’t making it any stronger since SP Extra is just flavoured Quit
@n9inchnails Thank you! My thoughts exactly.
Yes, that’s it. But mixed with Quit for me it really tastes like an SP. On its own for me the bergamotte flavour is too strong.
This one is strange for an SP in my nose. I surely pickup strong bergamot, but it also reminds me of licorice in a way.
This is my absolute favorite snuff. Most days it’s all I use. I have 2 boxes dedicated to it that are with me at all times. One straight and one mixed 50/50 with rustica for the extra nic punch when needed.
i have been a smoker for about 10 years now. I just started using snuff this week when my order came in. is it me because I have smoked for so long my nose is shot but I get a licorice sent.
Yes, I detect a liquorice scent. thanks, @franko954. I thought I was crazy and didn’t want to mention it. Is there an erinmore snuff? There should be.
I can see the licorice type scent in this one.I think its more of a ghost scent if you will, the mixing of a few scents that gives the slight impression of a completely different scent. This is my first SP and I have never had anything with Bergamot scent to it,I was under the understanding it was an orange type scent but I feel like its more of a lemon/lime scent. Whatever it is its very very good,I just got this one in the mail today and cant keep my nose out of it.
@outlawmobile what ever the taste is its amazing!! I got this stuff on Monday I can’t put it down!!
I found it difficult to get used to Toque SP Extra at first - I think because it’s quite different from the more traditional WoS and J&H Wilson SPs. once I got over the difference and started to appreciate it as a unique snuff without expecting it to fulfil exactly the same role as the other SPs in my collection, it became one of my staples definitely agree about the licorice type scent - I couldn’t identify it before, but now that you mention it, I think this is exactly what makes it so different from more traditional SPs (that and the fact that the Quit base it uses is a little more moist than most SPs) - definitely not a bad difference, just a difference
I just did a big pinch I’m definitely pick up the citrus now.
