Toque Raspberry Menthol

Most of you know I’m NOT a menthol guy. Even the menthol snuffs I own I barely use- I mainly use them when I’m sick or congested. However Toque’s Raspberry Menthol is great! It has a realistic, not too medicated scent. Just enough menthol to give that kick and accentuate the raspberry scent. If you haven’t tried this yet and you like fruity snuffs you should. It reminds me of that fruity gum with Xylol (or whatever it’s called) in it. Quite refreshing. It’s dark brown and medium moisture and medium grind/nicotine. Pleasant! I dunno if it’s my favorite, but I like it. What is your favorite fruity snuff with or without menthol?

I like Toque blueberry menthol.

I’m partial to the Toque Cherry Menthol myself.

You are going to like SD raspberry.

Toque raspberry menthol with a little extra toque menthol is good.

Tricky.at a press I’d say Toque Pomegranate.

I agree. I’m not much of a fan of menthols either, but Raspberry Menthol is very good.

The thing with menthol is that its actually a great ingredient but often dumped into a blend with no real thought, IMO. Heavy menthol in a snuff is like eating a vinadaloo with fine wine; the flavour is just lost. I think companies like Dholakia and Toque make some exciting menthol snuffs because they use it in liberation. Just try aniseed menthol or any number of the newer menthol Toques. This seems to be lost on some companies.

While I enjoy heavy menthol in a traditional medicated snuff, I have to agree that mixing a large dose of menthol with fruit or floral essences is usually not a good move. It’s too easy for the menthol to overwhelm everything else. Once in a while, though, you can find a good combo. WoS Honey Menthol falls into the latter category, IMO. I know some other snuffers feel that even HM has too much menthol, but for my nose, it’s the perfect balance of the two.

Yes I agree. I don’t normally like menthol, and usually no menthol at all- but once in awhile when used in moderation to simply “accentuate fruity or floral notes” it can be enjoyable. It’s very rare for me to even use a fruity snuff let alone a menthol one. I feel it detracts from the tobacco scent.

I often use a touch of plain menthol snuff as a background flavour; I mean 1 part in 10 or even more - a great one is 1 part McC OandG and Tom Buck.

Now that might be decent @snuffster.
