Toque Quit shipped bad

I ordered some 25g tins and 1 10g of SP Extra from Toque. I love their snuffs and they even swapped the 10 SP Extra for the 25g. My problem is the tin of Quit. It got smashed up kinda bad. It has a huge dent in it and 1/4 or so spilled out into the bag. Does anyone know a good way to be able to use the stuff spilled out? I’m very nervous to even open the tin. I know it’s gonna spill out everywhere. Helpp!!!

Wow, that is an horrible predicament! /s

Open the bag over a piece of paper then dump the bag or even rip it apart over the paper then just fold the paper and funnel the snuff back in the tin

Wow, that is a great idea. Thank you, n9inchnails.

n9inchMcGyver!

While you have it open over the paper, you might try bending the tin back into shape with your thumbs. This has happened to me too but the tins take back a workable shape pretty easily.

Don’t do what I"am doing wait untill toque gets better tins to order the ton of toques you want. (show this to your lawyer roderick it will help you prove your rightfull case against the fool that made such terrible tins!

Hey now, I think the Toque tins are pretty ingenious. Work better than WoS tins / McC

I bet you wish you could see the happy dance I just did. New tins. New tins. My favorite tins ever are the old Dean Swift. The ones with the hole on the side. Second favorite is the G.H. tubs the’re awesome. Then dholakia plastic tubs of various sizes. The F&T tins are great if you decant or use a spoon. The toque tins are almost perfect. Accept way too soft. Seriously you shouldn’t be able to rip a snuff tin in half without trying at least some-what hard.

We’ll forgive you this time, Roderick! I believe the quality of the your snuff makes up for the fact that, every once in a while, it seems a postal worker gets the urge to do a rain dance on a package of Toque!!! Seriously though, it’s great that you’ve gone to a tougher tin…you gotta protect that precious snuff!!!

I never meant Toque did anything wrong. I blame the mail haha. I just figured someone on this board would know how to fix the problem better than I would. That’s all I was saying. When someone at the post office doesn’t sit on them, Toque tins are pretty air-tight and don’t lose any snuff when they are opening/closing.

@ bob Quote > " The F&T tins are great if you decant or use a spoon" Decanting, or using a spoon is the best way. But has no one thought on here of tipping some snuff into the lid. Taking a pinch, then tip the remainder back?

Too complicated, SnuffHead!

gets the gasket dirty, and compromises the seal, but yes I have done that

actualy I will pour from an F&T tin unto the back of my hand. the secret is don’t shake or tap it (it is not a box tee hee)but slowly twist. It’s pretty easy actualy.

@ Roderick - “We never shipped bad in our lives! We never forget to frank our mail, we never get our orders mixed up.” No, but you have shipped product without first having received payment for it. The mailing date stamped on the outside of the envelope of my last order is 01-04-2011 and my credit card was never billed until the fifth. I believe it to be extraordinarily uncommon to find a company that executes that level of service in this day and age. Thanks for everything!

SnuffHead, you are a genious. And yes, the F&T tins rock. And bob, I may have to try that technique myself sometime

It works well. Though twist slowly. I don’t know if I said it but with the GH tubs it makes a mountain of snuff which isn’t as good.

The GH tubs are almost big enough to get your fingers into, at least until the very bottom. I end up using a spoon with the F&T tins, unless I decant to a WoS tin or lately, a smashbox. But has anyone else sent a smashbox full of snuff flying when the lid finally pops open? I think the Toque tins are the best of a bad breed; I’m sure looking forward to the redesigned ones. Leave it to Roderick to keep improving a great product!

The cast on my left hand for two broken fingers makes it hard to open most snuff tins. I really like the toque tins when both hands work but as of now the F&T are the easiest to open one handed.
