I’ve just had a delivery through for one of my favourite Toque offerings - peanut butter. This batch…I’m not sure if the receipe has changed or it needs to be aired for a while, but there’s something distinctly different in this order. I can only describe it as spicy. There’s something spicy that isn’t agreeing with my nose at all. Any help appreciated!
I’d echo lunecat’s suggestion. Sometimes the freshest snuffs need a little time to settle down. Berwick Brown is probably my all time favourite snuff, but I can’t use it fresh out of a new tin - it needs a little air time first. I’ve found that one of the benefits of using a pocket snuffbox is that it can help dissipate the unwanted “fermentation” scents, and let the snuff become “ready to serve” that little bit quicker. The downside is that it can get past it’s best quicker too if you let it linger in there too long
