Just posted my review of Toque Natural.
Good Job! you’re a giant, whenever I watch your videos I feel three feet tall. Keep-em coming. I using Natural right now along with some TNT. It a toasty day here.  Â
Great review of an outstanding natural snuff; one of my all time favorites.  I always have a few tins kicking around the house, car, tractor…wherever I might get the urge.
Nice job.
PS Nostalgia is a great thing.
Toque Natural is a great snuff. I have been a big fan of it for a good while. This is a nicely done video.
However, when it comes to pipe tobacco, I seriously disagree with the saying quoted in the video: “In the world of pipe smoking they say that all roads lead to Virginias.” This would of course be true IF and only IF you are a big Virginia fan–but not for those who aren’t, of course. I like Virginias to be sure, but they are not the end point for pipe tobacco smokers. For many of us, some of the greatest blends ever made have no Virginia content at all.
I have been in the pipe smoking world as a serious tobacco student and serious pipe collector for over 40 years (as well as being a semiprofessional tobacco blender). I also belong or have belonged to a good many pipe clubs in the USA and have attended dozens of pipe shows around the USA. But I have never heard this saying until watching this video which I played this morning. Where did you hear this, Hitsuzen?
But, aside from that, this is very good review of Toque Natural @Hitsuzen. You have a nice, easy style. I am going to watch more of your snuff videos.
@basement_shaman Thanks! I don’t mean for the angle to make me look taller. I’m actually only 5’11’’ B-) @chefdaniel I think we’re all deeply sentimental creatures! @fredh I apologize. I didn’t mean to offend you. I am a pipe smoker myself, and keep one of your blends on rotation (Wilderness). The first time I heard the quote, it was from my uncle. More recently, it came up again in a discussion on BoB. Hearing it fifteen years ago in southern California, and again this year on a forum, I was under the impression it was a common saying. I have only been smoking a pipe for ten years, and the pipe smoking community around me are too much my senior to take a 31 year old seriously. Lord knows I have tried, but I am always the outsider in the room, so although I know and love my pipeweeds well, I have no experience with pipe culture outside of the internet. For me, it’s something I enjoy by myself at the end of the night after getting the kids to sleep (and in a couple of my videos). Sorry about the gap between videos, guys. I’ve been focusing my energy on taking care of my pregnant wife. Between that, taking care of the kids (my wife can’t get out of bed right now without getting all spinny), and working overtime to cover all the upcoming expenses, gaps of free time are few and far between. I’m getting itchy, though, so it won’t be too long. I’m not sure I’ll do anymore opinion videos, though. My “quitting smoking with snuff” video resulted in emailed threats of physical violence. Sheesh.
@Hitsuzen, like I said, I like your snuff videos very much and I hope you continue doing them.Â
Thanks for the explanation of the “all roads lead to Virginias” saying. I guess it’s a bit odd that I have not come across it previously, but you certainly have and that’s good enough to justify your quoting it. It just struck me as a strange saying, nothing more to it than that.
Meanwhile, thank you for your appreciation of Wilderness.Â
By the way, I enjoy listening and learning from anyone regardless of their age. I am happy you are here.
@Hitsuzen, threats of physical violence? Sheesh is right! Some anti-tobacco nuts are insufferable on top of being inveterate liars. I’ve seen some pretty vile creatures crawl out of the woodwork when nasal snuff is mentioned online–their ignorance is as palpable as their malice–I guess I shouldn’t be surprised but I am. Talk about lunacy.
