Alright, so I managed to snuff through a 50g tin of HDT in shortly under a week and hav thusly decided that I need more of this stuff. So my query is this: how alike is the F&T HDT to Roderick’s Natural Toast? Because I can buy that in multi-hundred gram sacks, and I adore his natural, so I’d like to know how the toasts compare.

Both are good toasts but quite different.  The Natural toast has a bitter/sour note to it . Mr. Snuff sells bulk HDT.
So far as I can tell he is the only source for bulk F&T.

I like both but I buy Toque in bulk. There’s something about it that I prefer.

I just recently have tried Toque Natural Toast and Almond, and when compared with F&T, and SG Irish D Light, I find I prefer the Toque for the moment. I think all the HDT types are good. I even put Dholakia Sparrow in the same category, although it isn’t really toasted. The Fubar toast I didn’t like at first, but now I find it enjoyable, but not as much as the English toasts…

The Toque Toast really has a more plain smell about it, as @khalid said, a bitter/sour note would be an appropriate descriptor. F&T has always has a buttery, slightly nutty quality about it that I always enjoyed. While I like them both very much, the F&T just has a warmth and smoothness to me that keeps it at the top of my list. I doubt you would be disappointed in the Toque toast though, it is quite wonderful.

I prefer the Toque Natural Toast over HDT. Too me the HDT is too smokey and doesn’t " taste" as good. I also find the Toque one is easier to take. I just get a better tobacco note from the Toque one but it’s all about personal preference. I still use F&T HDT but I use the Toque more.
