Toque mixes

T

I made an order a while ago stocking up on old favorites like W&H, Spanish Gem, SP extra, Absinthe, Berwick Brown, and chocolate while getting 10 for 9 with Bourbon, Vanilla, Blueberry, Lavender, St Clements, Quit, Natural, Natural Toast, Original, and Peanut butter. I’ve mixed Spanish gem with W&H about 30/70 and it’s an interesting toast but nothing too remarkable. I’ve mixed 2parts chocolate with 1part vanilla and that makes for a good dessert snuff, but my best mix so far has been somewhere around 50/50 bourbon and coke. The coke along with espresso are two toques that while I do like them I’m not crazy for like SP extra or Spanish gem and W&H so I was surprised to find how well the bourbon and coke turned out. I’m thinking of Chocolate and Peanut butter or Peanut butter and Natural toast for my next mix but I thought I’d start a discussion first and see what other people’s experience with mixes of toque (the potential of which someone mentioned elsewhere) can show. I know I’m not the first to make any of these mixes or the first to think of them.

Here’s a quite extensive list

Mixed PB with chocolate around 50/50.because the chocolate scent is different than the kind used in Reese’s and so is the PB it’s not exactly reeses peanut butter cup but it’s a great mix nonetheless.

Toque’s are great mixers, that’s for sure. My current mix is equal amounts of vanilla, plain toast and rose with fubar grunt and some WoS Sherry and Irish toast. I have a pound or so left of the Toque/WoS mix and a half pound of the grunt and just keep mixing myself a jar full in one of my 140g jars that I use for Dragun. I’ve not used anything else for the last few weeks. Since Toque came on the market I have actually bought very few other brands and I hardly ever use a single snuff anymore. I don’t know what that says about my palate these days, confused maybe.

@snuffster I’d imagine after 30 years of snuffing you’d have a good sense of what to mix and somewhat of a need to do that to keep things interesting. I think my most ambitious mix was 3 different snuffs from 3 different countries. It was mostly WE garett sweet with some radford and WoS strawberry. Good change of pace but nothing great although I have friends who think its brilliant, mainly for the mix of menthol and scotch burn.
