Toque - Lime Toast

B

Received this today and Wow really strong lime and boy does it pack a wallop. My top two toasts are FT HDT and Toque Toast and Marmalade which i prefer over Whiskey & Honey so i was exited by the prospect of Lime Toast and it certainly delivers but the nicotine hit seems very high so much so it makes my head spin. Does anyone know whether lime affects nicotine absorbtion as this snuff seems much more potent than other toasts. Congratulations to Toque on another fine addition to the family.

C

Is this publicly available yet? I’m eager to try this!

X

_Does anyone know whether lime affects nicotine absorbtion_Lime aka calcium oxide, which is very alkaline would probably do that. Lime the fruit, no I don’t think so. @ carol, sure just go over to Toque’s site. If its not on the front page yet, just into the tins area. Its listed.

B

Nope i could not think of any particular reason it would affect the strength either but having gone back to it several times it definately seems much stronger than the Toast & Marmalade. It might be just me so i am curious as to what the general consensus is on the subject.

B

one thing with snuff is that the scent certainly effects absorbtion. For instance the easiest no brainer is that menthol that makes your nose runny makes you absorb the nicotine faster. Plus every smell is a drug in and of it’s self (ie any smell you smell will change your brain chemistry a little bit)so it’s quite possible that lime would effect how you react to nicotine for sure.

S

Cracked this open today. Absolutely marvellous, the lime gives way to a very nice smokey flavour. Not an all-day snuff but a definite treat. I felt a high intake of nicotine from it, but that might be a result of the fine grind, I don’t reach for toasts that often.

R

Now I really have to gather all my willpower not to eat this snuff. The smell from the open tin is smashing. I´ve had very high hopes, but it´s so ridiculously times more delightful, than everything I´d imagined… About time they build a monument for you in Berwick!

C

Or rename it: Roderick-upon-Tweed.

R

@cstokes4: Where do I have to sign the petition? :)))

C

Hmmm… don’t have time to make one now, I’m busy making the mold for the bronze statue of Roderick that will stand at the center of Roderick-upon-Tweed.

R

Ok, I just had a go for it. What could I possibly say to do it justice… I just don´t know. Amazing beyond words. I´ve only once had a snuff before, that was so pleasent and surprising, that I had to laugh after the first pinch. I´ve got an urge to jump into the tin right now!

T

It is even better than I ever hoped it would be. Roderick, another triumph. So, who’s collecting the donations for the statue? Count me in!

A

A really great snuff. My first pinch just reminded me of the cleaning fluid that they used at my junior school - I had a real weird snuff enduced blast back to my past. Im not sure whether the nicotine is effected by the lime but I do have a suspicion that a large pinch will open up a worm hole to other dimensions. Maybe its got some Salvia in there! Seriously, it’s delicious.

J

Salvia Divinorum used as snuff must be snuffed at least once per day for a period of at least twenty one days for the user to “contact wormholes”. This is a considerable effort for this effect. However the created sensitivity will be rewarding in every snuff of it thereafter. Good luck on your journeys. Back to the subject “Limey Toast” from Roderick. I’ll check the mailbox daily!

A

Damn iam gonna order those new ones right now

A

Done

C

I broke down and ordered as well. I wanted to try the lime, and I may as well top off on some favorites as well.

Z

I put in my order with Tom apparently about 12 hours before the new Toques came in. Guess I’ll have to wait for my next order. Grr.

S

Nice, just got my tin of lime toast. The smell reminds me of opening up a canister of powdered gatorade. That’s as far as I can compare the two though since I never tried snuffing the gatorade. Another thought I had about pairings is that this snuff would go perfectly with an ice cold margarita (on the rocks with salt of course) on a hot summer day.

W

Lime & Coke with be on the menu today. Holy cow, this lime is pungent. I could smell it from outside the box from NicotineRush. I have to get some more of the ammonia out but this is a very bright snuff. Bright and crisp and the flavor ‘pops’.

S

Lime and Coke sounds like a fantastic mix! *rummages around to get them out*

T

I just got the Lime Toast yesterday, and like it quite a bit. It’s a very agreeable sent. I don’t get an ammonia smell. I’ve been on it all day.

C

Man, you guys make it sound *so good*!! I can’t wait for mine to get here!!

X

no congestion, tom?

B

I tried to add a bit of Coke to the Lime Toast…not too impressive .I’m not sure anything can successfully be added to this wonderful snuff and make it better than it’s original form?

T

If I “sniff” it, yes. Maybe it’s my technique(or lack of), but I’ve just been pinching it, and sticking it in.

S

@Bart, rather than adding Coke to the Lime, I added Lime to the Coke. If that makes sense? I found it to be thoroughly enjoyable.

D

I’m looking forward to trying this one today if it arrives along with several other Toques I ordered. I don’t recall ever having a specifically flavored toast, unless WoS DH#20 qualifies due to its ‘toasted SP’ reputation. It would be nice to have a toast in my rotation that actually satisfies. I find IHT#22 to have a wonderful aroma from the snuffbox, but it feels like something is missing when I actually use it.

J

You add the Lime to the Coke and den you sniff 'em both up…

B

Thanks, Spam and James S! Must try the reversal when I get home tonight!

T

@ James S: LOL!

S

I just got a tin of this, but still haven’t tried it yet! The Berwick Brown has been monopolizing my nostrils! I’ll get to it soon!

J

hehehe, toffeenose caught it! You put the lime in the coke and den you sniff 'em both up, You put the lime in the coke, you called Roderick, woke 'im up Said Roderick (is there nothing I can take) Rooooooderick (to relieve this nasal ache)

S

Oh, yeah, The Lime. It’s good!

W

Ok, I mixed up a few grams of Lime&Coke. This is delicious. Now I’m thinking Lime, Orange, Mild Lemon, Coke, and Cherry would taste like Fruit Stripe Gum. Either that or a Long Island Iced Tea…and how can we make a Whiskey Sour? The flavor introduces itself every bit as powerfully as SP Extra. Maybe introduce isn’t the right word…it more like comes crashing right in.

C

I must say I’ve had a huge sh*t-eating grin on my face ever since the Lime arrived. This is great stuff!

P

What’s amazing about this snuff is the clear tobacco flavor which emerges as soon as the blast of lime disappears. This is a super nice snuff!

A

I’ve just got my first can of the natural toast today and thats great too.

B

Well, wish I thought of the lime and coke. My coke is reborn again!

D

This one just hit me in the back of the throat, showing what an amateur I still am. I keep trying, but I gotta practice more with the toasts. Ken

R

Had to bump this thread. Gah, this stuff is great! Just got my first tin yesterday and I can’t put it down.

B

Best toast on the market (imo).

A

Absolutely addictive. Eventhough I prefer Wilsons grind and toast, must say this extraordinarily good. Nice citrus zest and as experienced toasted snuff taker, no problem taking it.

B

Allan wonderfull picture by the way.

A

Thanks bob. That’s a step in river Dodder here in south Dublin City. Lovely parks along it, I have a walk there every day.

X

@AllanH: What’s the progress on reopening the old canals to recreational traffic? I know there are some open, but I have a dream of kayaking from the Atlantic coast all the way to Dublin harbor someday.

X

That’s Ireland’s Atlantic coast, not mine. I’m not ready for that one, good grief!

A

Waterways Ireland is clearing and refitting canals all the time now, they’ve been really busy this summer. There’s some sense left in this country still.

B

ireland is definatly charmed in the geography department.

X

Good job! I wish we could get a movement like that here. The New York canal system is good and was refitted decades ago. Sadly all others are left as historic oddites. You can put a kayak in them, but you can’t go anywhere. If they’d re-open the Chesepeake and Ohio canal, I could paddle to Bart’s house!

A

Check this @Xander or anyone into canals and/or Ireland: www.rte.ie/tv/waterways/

X

@AllanH Thanks, that’s awesome! I wish it showed whole episodes - those little clips are just teasers. That’s just the kind of thing I love. “THUUNK” said the boat as it hit the bridge. Oops. Quite exciting that the canal is a thoroughfare again.

T

A lovely offering from Toque. Lime, Pine Oil, Phenolic, Turpentine and  Smoke. Intense lime and pine oil dominate the first whiff, they quickly vaporize and turn to a thick woody smoke. Soft, velvety and easy to take Absolutely top shelf from Toque!

M

Nice, fresh, lovely, def worth trying!
