Toque Cheese and Bacon

Okay, I took the plunge and ordered a tin of this.  This is the oddest snuff I have ever tried.  The tin note is one of cheese and smokey bacon.  When taken into the nose, however, the cheese element is overwhelming . . . and very long-lasting.  (Even after thorough nasal irrigation, you’re going to smell this for a while.)  I honestly can’t decide if I think this is pleasant or unpleasant.  On the one hand, it has a definite “umami” quality to it, and in certain moods I like it.  On the other hand, there is an unmistakable note of “stinky feet”.  Of course, the same could be said of aged cheese in general.  It’s definitely not an all-day snuff, and would probably work best with or after a savory meal.  I’m pretty sure this is the last tin of it I’ll ever order, if for no other reason than it will probably last me the rest of my life.  But at least I count myself among those brave souls who can say, “I tried it”.

Sounds delicious! One of these days I’ll have to order everything in my shopping cart from toque.

Had to throw a few grams of this away a couple months back because some moisture got in there (I think when I was camping) and clumped it all together so it was kind of like a snuff-hash rock and it smelled musty. I do remember really liking it at times and if anything it’s at least worth a try.
