I’ve got a question about this particular snuff. It’s my first Toque and so far it’s really great. I notice however that it is not very uniformly ground, there are bits in it that are almost recognizeable as pieces of leave or rib. Is this normal or have I caught a badly sieved tin? It’s still very nice to take and pleasant in the nose, I just try to avoid the very coarse bits. Maybe that’s the way it’s supposed to look and I’m just not used to such heterogenous snuff? I hope the image is recognizeable. And sorry if this is a redundant thread, i can’t find a way to customize searches on this board and didn’t want to check every page for a similar topic.
oh, the picture comes out great, I should have cleaned my fingernails… :-S
C&C is a more coarse grind than most other Toques … it’s perfectly fine.
Looks to be the same grind as Berwick Brown…I would say it’s normal, but I haven’t had the pleasure of trying C&C yet.
yes, that is exactly the grind. about as coarse as Toque gets … real easy snuff to take.
Yikes! I never liked Rodericks “course grind”. The larger particles always went to the wrong places and would stick due to their surface area. I would definitely re-grind it. So far I have been the only one with this opinion though.
When we did the taste sampling prior to release, my suggestion was for a finer grind as well, @Juxtaposer … but I am use to it … well worth it for the scent.
Aw, Roderick … you know you made a helluva snuff if I’M taking a coarse grind.
Well I adore C&C and I like the grind. So easy to take and so delicious. Glad I have this superb offering in bulk.
Leave it as is Roderick. This snuff is perfection itself. Stefan
I’ve been naughty for a while now. I’m just glad there is still a snuff saint near the North pole.
When I first opened my first tin of C&C, I thought… “wow, Berwick Brown??” . I love the C&C grind. Sometimes though, some particles get sort of “stuck” high up in my nose, making it feel kind of sneezy…but easily remedied with a healthy dose of Toque menthol to make the nose run it out.
So, I took it with me on my short easter vacation and got perfectly used to it, maybe the only problem, if it is a problem, is that pieces of snuff keep fluffing out of my nose if the nostrils were very dry. The flavour is definitely worth such a small inconvenience. It’s quiet hearty and nourishing, imo.
I think the coarse grind goes with the scent. It keeps a hint of the tobacco scent which wouldn’t be there in a finer grind. It keeps more of the plant scent. So I think it’s good the way it is.
when i first tried Toque line i said wow what a fine grind it’s very difficult to snuff it. But after trying some ultra fine snuffs i think toque is very easy now i find toque an all day snuff with its moisture and grind.
The coarse grind is great, please keep it that way. By the way, does anyone know whether the base tobacco is available unscented? It seems really nice. Is that Natural or Berwick Brown or something?
I like to see more of this grind offered
Absolutely me too. More of this grind pretty please, Rodders
I would also like to add my voice to the ‘more coarse’ brigade.
Yes more coarse Toques. I love the B.Brown and C&C.
