- All day snuff is Tom Buck- I have no idea why I love it so damn much. Best SP is pretty good, too. Queens super strong is about the same but drier/finer. 2) Smoky after dinner snuff is Lakatia 1860- damn that stuff is special tasty! If I don’t have this on hand then Garrett Scotch is pretty good. 3) Nighttime snuff is Jockey Club or Royal George at night…helps me concentrate on a great book and I love to meditate on the flavors. 4) Favorite dry plain. Irish HDT I could pinch this all day as well. Nothing compares for me. It’s pure tobacco. Toque natural comes pretty close. 5) Well, I didn’t include a menthol…not really a menthol guy, but I like Packard’s club…just wish it was a little finer and drier…Lowenprise is pretty mellow for a menthol. Still looking for the perfect menthol snuff…suggestions? I don’t like one too strong like Hedges…For some reason McChristal O&G is too cold on the nose for me. I want a menthol that is medium fine, dryish, not too cold on the nose, no bite to it, and is subtle. I’m going to try President out? Cheating…if I really want a lot of nicotine, I’ll take Taxi Super Snuff…good for killing stress.
Perfect Menthol Snuff? Have you tried Wilsons of Sharrow S.M 500? Thats pretty strong
Well I’m new to snuff and only got my first batch of snuff a couple days ago, but since I have about 10 different varieties, most of which I’ve tried, I believe I can do a top five. 1) Gawith Hoggath Kendal Brown -I’ve probably used this the most 2) Wilson’s Rasberry -I use a very little quantity of this but I really enjoy the smell and feel of it in my nose 3)McChrystals O&G -just tried it, good stuff 4)Brutons -hard to use but has a serious kick and I love the smell 5)Gawith and Hoggarth Jockey club -not an all day snuff for me but I like the aroma
bryan, you might want to try Bespoke Stephan’s Tipple, Bespoke Gin & Tonic or Dholakia Sparrow Blue. Also Poschl Kloster Andecks is gentle menthol.
I’ll probably come back and look at this in 3 days and wonder what I was thinking, but today, I’d say; 1) Original and Genuine 2) de Kralingze Macuba 3) Wilson’s SM Blue 4) Tom Buck 5) de Kralingze Peppermint…no…Packard’s Club…no…Gletscherprise…Irish Coffee… Look, I just can’t narrow it down to 5. Maybe 10, I don’t know. Weird how I smoked exactly the same cigarettes of 30 years, but can’t be limited to 5 snuffs… Cheers, Java
Exactly, thats whats bizarre/interesting about snuff and snuffers - almost every person who has posted their top five has put a little disclaimer at the bottom of the post saying something along the lines of ‘the list will probably change soon’
Its just like food, you don’t want to eat the same thing over and over again. You want to mix it up to get more enjoyment out of it… And unlike smokes, your not just using snuff for the nic fix to calm the crave of your addiction. Your also getting enjoyment from the scent. And just like food, sometimes you enjoy one scent one minute and the next you want something else.
I suppose snuff taking is more comparable to wine drinking than smoking…
I just tried taking Garett Sweet in the mouth. The nicotine kick is too intense. I prefer the nose. Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely try them out.
I’d like to submit my newest list; 1) Fribourg & Treyer French Carotte 2) Fribourg & Treyer Morlaix 3) Fribourg & Treyer Old Paris 4) Samuel Gawith Wild Duck 5) Fribourg & Treyer Princes The Wild Duck must feel outnumbered…there are 3 Fribourg & Treyer snuffs I have not tried yet so the list could change again!
- Taxi Blue 2. Spanish Jewel 3. Toque Chocolate 4. Old Paris 5. Seville … Aaargh! There! I did it.
