Was craving a smoke pretty badly this morning so went to town and got some cigars and after a couple of those was feeling better. Then I called into a new e-cig shop on the way home and got a small eGo-CE4 to try. Took the first vape in the shop after the assistant filled it with the e-liquid 24mg Golden Virginia and… GOOD!!! First puff and I think I’m a convert. Got 3 other flavours to try also. Really was surprised how similar it felt to the 2 mini cigars I had just smoked a few minutes before. Didn’t get a lot of throat burn, just about right I would say and plenty of vapour and definitely a great little nicotine high. More convinced now that these will become very common. I still have to see if it will be for me longer term which is why I got this small version just to try. I don’t see me giving up snuff but I do hope I will now forget about the cigars for lung preservation. Currently I see it as something to give me a break from snuff occasionally but I admit it could progress to more than that. I honestly don’t think I could have had a better first impression in that it seemed very smooth, easy and natural with a good effect and that genuinely did surprise me.

Yes, I had read so much about people talking of getting the right juice and setting the volts and all this stuff and that had kind of put me off as I didn’t want to go through a load of experimentation and cost to get to something that worked for me. Well I guess just going straight for the 24mg Golden Virginia was a pretty good first choice and that little eGo just worked perfectly. If I had closed my eyes I would have felt as though I was getting a drag from a really good tobacco cigarette or cigar but without any harsh tobacco polution. I felt the vapour just like a regular smoke. Told I have to charge the battery for several hours on the first charge so waiting on that to have another go and I’m going to show it to the sister later as she is smoking a lot and I think she would be as amazed by this as I am. I recomended that she just go buy one in the shop as the staff were very helpful but she wants to try this one first as before she had some kind of cheap e-cig that produced no vapour. I think she will be surprised a tthe difference with this one. If using this one goes ok then I am sure I will be back buying another few of these maybe larger battery life versions fairly soon.

I went to the ecig web site where I read this though: “when the electronic cigarette products had been stocked for several weeks or months, the probability of deterioration for the cartridge or cartomizer, the e-liquid and the battery had become higher and higher.” So, I am wondering if this is true–does the stuff deteriorate on storage in a manner of weeks?

Actually some juice seems to get better with age, I have some that has been steeping for at least 2 years! All the hardware such as batteries and atomizers have a shelf life like a wooden broom handle. Its when one is using them everyday that the city miles start adding up. Every 3 months I get a new battery and every week to month I get a new atomizer, just because I use it ALL the time.

Defintely worth a try @Mouse. So far I haven’t been using mine much as I still prefer to snuff and I had two tins of small cigars to use up and I drank to much wine on Saturday evening so I’m still a bit hungover but I did get to try it a fair bit last night and I do like it and btw my sister did not take to it at all. Made her cough a lot and she just handed it back to me? Can give me a bit of a dry throat at the moment also but I only take several puffs and then I’m happy to put it down for a while. Tried to see if I could use it first thing this morning and no, seemed to smokey or vapey? Preferred the snuff as usual. So, so far I have really enjoyed having it sitting on my computer desk and just picking it up when I fancy a try. I saw some people call them electronic Shisha pipes or whatever and that sort of is how it seems to me especially now that I am trying the French Pipe juice which is very like F&T Old Paris and is very nice. The Golden Virginia I realised is like Branif Carribean without the menthol so that’s why I got the cigar impression and the two juices mix well also as I only have one Cartomiser but I think I will have to go get a couple more today to use a spares and hold the other flavours. Probably end up getting another spare eGo and maybe yet more flavours today also as this juice they are selling (from China of course) seems to be good quality. Not that I’m any expert but you may have seen me complaining about snuff’s on accasion, well I have no complaints about these flavours or the nicotine in fact already I think I will only buy 18mg instead of more 24mg as the 18mg French Pipe is perfectly fine while the 24mg Golden Virginia is probably more than I need. I think when I get more used to it I am definitely going to appreciate not having the harsh smoke polution of the cigars. They still are the old fashioned real thing though but I think I could do without them in fact I already think it is a pity that I had not tried an e-cig long ago as they almost certainly would have been benificial to lung health. Maybe most of all I actually find it sort of fun and definitely gives good nic hit. I think it’s the big plume of vapour and the flavours. It is more like a Shisha. Can’t wait to try the Banana and the Blueberry and I think I will get some Strawberry today and a few others.
@I_snuff_therefore___ for trying different flavors I humbly recommend directly dripping into a regular atomizer. That way there is no filler to hold onto the old juice and the flavor transition is much more efficient. Infact I am a full time dripper for I feel it produces the most flavor and is all around the most convenient! Im not saying it’s the best for everyone, but it might be worth a go!
Thanks@feralgeek. I should get an atomiser for trying that at some stage. I do like the convenience of these CE4. I got another 3 today so I have them filled with new flavours and I like the VG fruit mix. The PG’s I had were apparently drying my throat so I got 4 VG’s today and another ego. Hope that will do me for a couple of months and then see but as long as they keep me from smoking cigars then I will be sticking with it. Still glad I have the snuff. The combination of the 2 works pretty well but there is even more flavour changing going on now that I have both systems. I think I would have to get more serious about vaping if I was only going to depend on that but it’s great to have the real tobacco snuff still and the e-cig as the addition to stop me buying more cigars. I obviously failed when using the snuff alone but I was close so I hope this is the solution. It’s enjoyable so that can only be good.

I am still chasing the perfect vape, I keep getting closer with new juices, atomizers and vaporizers but I think thats part of the hobby!
