Haven´t been too aware of this before, as it´s not a topic in Germany, yet, but it seems, it´s already in place in Canada, Australia, Iceland and Ireland. It seems to be UK´s turn in 2013: The Guardian articleThis could be quite a setback for snuff. More here: Tobacco product display ban
The display ban seems to be a failure, if the aim was to prevent underage smoking. All it’s doing is presenting a nightmare scenario for retailers.
We have to save the children.
…and destroy our local convenience store owner in the process.
Oh, I agree, I wasn’t serious. It seems the rabid antis want us all smoking Victory brand non-filters. By trying to shut down legit business, and refusing to embrace harm-reduction, they only keep smokers smoking, and create an environment to grow crime, and job/business losses.
Hmmm, it´s a bit tricky, as the main site (ok, it´s Philip Morris run and they´ve never been the ones playing 100% straight) suggests it affects all tobacco products. Still, even if it´s only aimed at cigarettes, this would be represent a whole arsenal of coffin nails for small shops, offering tobacco products. And usually they´re the ones, offering snuff. At least around here.
