toasts and tap out boxes?

Does a tap out box effect the freshness of a toast? Im wanting to try SamGs toasts and GH toasts but can only seem to find them in the tap out boxes so far.

i don’t think toasts can get much more dry but as a rule i use tap boxes as little as possible due to their poor track record

Tap boxes effect toasts much less than moister snuffs. Still there is some moisture in a toast, so it will have some effect. GH Irish D is available from a few retailers in the mini-tub. SG’s toasts you might have to use the tap box as a trial. After that, bulk is the way to go.

I guess if the ambient humidity is high enough (especially in the summer), toasts can absorb it and get very clumpy. I don’t think it will affect the aroma though. Tap boxes are just more permeable to external conditions.

I don’t think they are affected as badly as moister snuffs, I find tap boxes very useful for using toasts and scotches as I prefer to take them from off the back of my hand. @Xander: I only have a tap box of SG Irish D which is running perilously low… where might I find a mini-tub of it?

@toffeenose: I can’t help you with the Samuel Gawith. Gawith Hoggarth Irish D, is available from Aireys of Kendal, My Smoking Shop and Mr. Snuff. However, bulk of Samuel Gawiths should be easy enough to find.

@Xander: my mistake, but thanks for the info anyway - would you recommend GH Irish D?

Yes, its a good toast. Its also unique. I’d say it comes the closest to scotches among all the toasts.
