With the considerable drop in temperature all across the map, I was wondering if anyone else’s daily rotation has changed up a bit ? American scotches with their warm , smokey notes have really been a treat for me on the colder days !

It is just turning cooler here in Az. Will be in lower 60s daytime and mid 30s at night. I find I am going with my homeground Fennel, sage, and Aniseed snuff.

Busted out the schmalzlers, put away the toasts.

Hmmm. Seems that the weather does not affect my snuff use in anyway I can think of.

De Kralingse Pompadour with it’s lovely clove scent suggesting warmth always seems very appealing in the cold weather. Cold weather also brings out the best in WoS Best Dark, ditto SG Scotch Black. I seem to gravitate away from the finer grinds in this weather.

No weather changes my snuff rotation. It just keeps rotating from day to day.

The weather is more or less a constant here in hawaii, just a little rainier in the winter. But I have switched to fall/cool weather snuffs to give myself a feeling of the seasons I miss from growing up on a farm in Kansas. I’m pretty new to snuff (less than a year, only 3 months now as a full time snuffer) and it stll amazes me how snuff can evoke such a strong emotional and memory connection.

Exclusively using 6 Photo Special these days for it’s decongestant qualities.

The only difference for me is that I’ve dug up my Fichtennadel which has been neglected since last winter. I like taking it before going out in the cold.

Fröhliche Weihnachten by Bernard, has been my winter snuff… Mmm the cinnamon is strong and pleasant. Despite that it is generally always cold, icy, snowy… or theres hail in the summer. Maybe why I like Schmalzlers all year. It has been somewhat warm, and very sunny out at 10,000 ft in CO. Its great to help bring up the mood in the evening.

But which snuffs do you consider fall/cold weather snuffs, that’s what we want to know! I forgot to mention De Kralingse Latakia, that one makes me feel warm as the smokiness in it reminds me of an open fire.

Bernard Gekachelter Virginie dunkel. Dark, smoky, fermented, unscented, freshly cleaned barn and shampooed leather saddles. OM Olde English Toast is good too, but is semi-fine and dry, and the smoke comes from piney Cyprian Latakia…a totally different beast.
