I switched months ago from cigs (I relapsed after 17 years!) to SNUS and snuff (hooray!), and I’m noticing that esp when it’s quiet I’m getting more ringing in my ears than usual. I hadn’t anticipated this but apparently nicotine and tobacco can cause or exacerbate tinnitus. It’s not bad but I’m hoping it doesn’t get worse. I don’t have any sinus blockage or infection. Has anyone else had this problem? Tnx

Yes. The service used to think ear protection meant sticking your fingers in your aural canal and turning your head. Tinnitus is a real problem with blocked sinuses. Drink fluids and blow your nose while it’s still blowable.

Something that will help clear out the sinuses and thus help with tinnitus is using a neti pot. I do it relgiously twice a day, helps clear out all the leftover snuff and let’s you breathe… Can find them at most health food stores.

I have said it before, and will again: neti pot is the tits. I actually think it makes me FEEL better, too. I use mine at the end of the day, mainly after dinner, before bed. But recently felt what i thought was a cold coming on - and I used the neti pot a few times through the day, as well as a zinc lozenge every few hours - and the next day felt like a champ. It is a great $13 investment no doubt.
