Wie ich vor ein paar Tagen schon im Chat erzählt habe, wird die dänische Firma V2 Tobacco demnächst neben Kautabak auch Snuff auf den Markt bringen. Die zwei Macher von V2 haben sich hierzu Hans Huber vom Snuffstore Kempten ins Boot geholt, verantwortlich für die die Konzeption und Rezeptur der Sorten. Über Hans konnte ich eine Probe “Thunder frosted Coarse” erhalten, vielen Dank an dieser Stelle. Freunde des “südafrikanischen” Snuffs werden hier ihren Spass dran haben. Grob und feucht, die Tabakgrundlage hat eine starke Würze mit animalischen Anklängen, sehr nahe am Dingler Taxi. Fein aromatisiert mit einer herben Pfefferminznote. Der Snuff wird auf der Tabakmesse Dortmund (September 2015?) offiziell vorgestellt. Bis dahin stehen warscheinlich gleich mehrere Sorten im Lineup. Grobe und feine, plain und aromatisiert. Summary: The Danish Company V2 Tobacco will introduce a Thunder Snuff to the market soon. V2 teamed up with Hans Huber from the Snuffstore.de staff to create the different varieties. There will be coarse, fine, plain and scented snuffs. Unhold recieved a sample of “Thunder frosted Coarse” and said that people who enjoy southafrican snuffs like Dingler Taxi, are going to have fun with the snuff. He describes the tobacco base as coarse and moist, spicy with animallike scents and a harsh peppermint flavour. I had their chew and snus - red original, blue frosted and green wintergreen. It some powerful snus. Yet another thing to try V2 snuff.

I think it will have a big impact on the german market, just like their chew, since they are cooperating with snuffstore.de . I wonder if they’ll make a melon snuff, that would be amazing.

I would certainly hope that melon be included in the flavor line up.

Hi Michael, thank you for contacting me before spreading my words, a rare matter in today’s internet. Snuffers are just nice people. Since April I have three kids and no time to take care enough of my own board schnupftabakfreunde, so sorry, i didn´t post my top secret “V2 Snuff” information here at snuffhouse yet. Unfortunately I have obtained only a single sample of “Thunder frosted coarse Snuff” tap box from my friend Hans Huber, but this immediately convinced me that there will be a good lineup arising. Hans has he has a talent for recipes and concoctions and did a good job while brainstorming with the v2 guys. First outcome has a powerful tobacco base (similar to well known south african varieties), with rich and dark but not overpowering peppermint scent. The aroma of the snuff is quite similar to the frosted chewing tobacco. The tobacco flavor surprised me at first, because it´s different to their chewing products, but the aromatization tastes or smells immediately like the distictive “house smell” of V2. Very satisfying in taste and with pretty good nicotin hit. I`m looking forward for a full Line-up with coarse and fine snuffs. And as the previous speaker “perique” has already noted “Melon”… I shared this idea already by hans on v2, next to wintergreen. Hopefully they will do it ?! @unhold Congratulations on your new arrival ! A melon snuff would be the first of its kind right ? I wrote V2 Tobacco a message on facebook asking them about a melon snuff, but they didn’t respond yet. I’m already hyping it, without even knowing for sure if it will exist. Maybe we could get Hans or one of the V2 guys to join the forum so we can convince them to produce it

Another snus maker I know was/is trying to develop a house blend of their own. This may be an interesting trend and point to something about the market that they all are seeing It is also interesting that the Vogal brothers (thus the V2) seem to be shadowing Swedish Match in both their move into snuff and the style they are making. Though I like V2 snus…I am skeptical about the snuff…I wonder if this is simply another work around (like calling snus “chew” to avoid EU regulations). Does anyone know if it is going to be listed for oral and nasal use? From the description thus far it sounds like Thunder Frosted in a tap box.

Has anyone tried the Thunder frosted snuff ? I see it is available at Northerner in a course grind and snusline has it in fine grind. So far only a spearmint snuff is offered.

I haven’t tried it yet but I plan on including some in my next snusline order.

This is the first snuff I had and is what got me interested in trying others can’t really say if it is good or bad because I just received my first order from mr snuff a week ago but the things I did notice is that it dose have a nice spearmint or peppermint smell kinda moist (not as much as mcC o&g but defiantly not a scotch) it gave me a lot of forward drain and back drain. It also did not have an ammonia smell to it . Hope this kinda helped
