Very similar snuffs, but which is best to your mind folks, and why?
Thor’s is sweeter, not better.
I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite of the 2. In fact enjoy Viking Brown about the same as Thor’s and Dark. They are all variations of a nice theme.
Does Thor’s Hammer have the same nose-feel as Viking Dark? That’s really what Viking Dark is about for me, the scent is out of this world too don’t get me wrong, but nothing is as physically satisfying as VD. It sits there perfectly with just the right amount of string and burn, and consistently produces a really powerful nose-throb and radiating sensation. After some VD I feel as satiated as if I just ate a big meal or something, it’s very somatic.
I like Thor’s Hammer but as it’s a new snuff I tend to feel slightly biased. However on reflection I think Dark is the better snuff. The smoky camp fire tobacco is like nothing else I’ve tried yet. Thor’s Hammer seems to be a blend of the this same fire cure Virginia and straight up Virginia (for want of a better expression). Both deliver (for me) a big hit of nicotine and so either way I win. I’m happy to work through a tin of TH knowing to follow is a full tin of Dark.
I like Thor’s Hammer better than the Dark because it’s fluffier and stronger to me. The scents are slightly different and I enjoy them both, but because they are so similar I really only need one of them. Thor’s Hammer for me.

100% agree. The scent is great, but can be achieved by a number of similar blends - that satisfying nose-feel (more like face-feel, really) is what makes it my #1 go to snuff.
After working halfway through a tin of Thor’s Hammer, I think it’s not a bad snuff, but it’s kinda missing something on the scent. I’m a fan of plain snuffs, but this one seems like it’s either missing a certain leaf in the blend, or even a light casing. Viking Dark seems “complete” whereas I don’t quite get that with Thor’s Hammer. A good base for mixing perhaps. GH Cherry or Dry Orange spring to mind, or even SG Firedance. Wouldn’t need much flavour, just kind of needs a little “nudge” IMHO.
… just to confirm, four parts Thors Hammer to one part GH Cherry works quite nicely
