So I have a cigar radio app on my iphone. Really neat. I do not smoke cigars anymore, they were too expensive, but I still have the radio app. Its nice to kick back and enjoy a pipe or use some snuff and listen to these guys get to interview new up and comers to the industry. Smoke with legends and talk about other topics. Just really neat. That lead me to thinking how cool it would be to create a tobacco radio. Would use the same structure as this podcast radio. Segments are done, then uploaded for users to listen too through the app or on their computers. I think a station which focuses on snuff, snus, pipes, and maybe dip would be fun to listen to. Having certain people come in that work within the industry to shoot the breeze. Maybe even have a nightcap segment with some of the worlds best new upstarts in brewing beer or people who know their way around making whiskey and so on. I know this is too vague and the costs to do so and so on make it crazy, but I think it would be neat. I would listen.
ive often thought of doing a podcast, and a touring series on tobacco, but i don have the time or money to invest in it. such a shame really. recently talked with a friend about a UK tobacco themed filming tour, (he drives, but has no interest in tobacco) just we cant afford it, and dont have a co star to relieve me occasionally haha.
See that is the thing. MONEY and TIME. I could imagine it would be relatively easy to do a one to two hour segment. You could email various companies and set up conference calls and discuss what you would like to discuss. Does not even have to be higher ups in the business. You could also find historians or just connoisseurs of certain tobaccos who know their stuff. Find a friend who also enjoys the tobacco life and boom you have a show. Problem is investing in the time and equipment and also being able to keep things interesting and new. Ive thought of ways to make it work, but as of now I lack the resources to implement it. I am working on getting a youtube channel up and running of reviews and just voicing opinions on lifestyle and such.
