A few months ago, at my local, I acquired a large (and I do mean large) jar of W.E. Garrett scotch snuff; after having sniffing for quite some time and barely making a dent in in, I developed a curiosity for knowing what else you can do with it. I’ve seen mention in some threads about turning it into a rappee by adding water and cooking it down slowly. Anyone else have any funky suggestions or recipes?
You can rub it on your gums, and one of my favorites, especially with conwood peach, is take a stick (I use a small piece that I whittled down into a snuff spoon) and dip it into the snuff after wetting it and put it in my lower lip off to one side.
Ok, this Polish one is really interesting, although I didn’t catch a word of it except for “snuff” and “snuffbox.” I’d really like to see it with subtitles, as all this traditional stuff is realy cool.
@Filek, are you up to the task of writing the translation?
I just whipped up a batch of Perique infused Bruton / SD Natural.
Soak Perique tobacco in warm distilled water
Strain water into bowl
Stir plain snuff in to the Perique sauce
Warm mix uncovered, stirring occasionally to evaporate excess moisture
A perfect way to bypass the grinding of the sticky Perique tobacco.
