Thought a couple of these things may be of interest to some here- but maybe you guys have already looked thru… was looking through the snuff box selection, and saw: A tin of Rainbow snuff (never heard of), a vintage 5 Photo Himalaya tin, and a packet (or wrapped up multi-pack) of some German snuff I’ve also never heard of. Oh, and a lot of French wooden boxes and many of similar type not from France. May bid on some nice cheap (temporarily, unless I get lucky) sterling silver boxes.
wow Rainbow snuff is old school and there is a post somewhere on here with people looking for it… I have to check it out but wonder how old it is lol nice find!
I won a tin of Rainbow a few years ago. Really, really, super sweet. Most sweet scotches are too sweet, this was over the top. Feel free to post links, I’m curious about the German one. Someone here probably knows it. I look through the listings from time to time also, I’ve gotten some nice vintage jars of Levi Garrett and two different Maccoboys.

Interesting. The Pearsons Red Top ones come up a lot. It must have been very popular at one time. The description with it is for the wrong item though!
Hmm, I don’t know if I’d buy those old (full) tins. I suppose if it’s not in snuffable condition one could just sell it to a collector, but I don’t have enough loot to gamble- or would the cash lost not be too bad?
I don’t know what to say but the japanesse box is cool but it lies. Marines don’t have shells.

What would that material be from an inner layer of the shell then? Nobody has explained to me how it’s processed . I definitely wouldn’t want them killed to make stuff out of their shells- or do some people eat them? But I did like the carving on it…
