Have you ever try a snuff you really dislike ? It’s often a particularity of the taste. Me,I throught that I liked anisette ,but, when I bought it in snuff, after three pinches the tin became a gift to initiate a friend of mine -).
Chocolate. I left the top off a can of it and went back a day later - something had happened in the meantime and the resulting pinch was rancid - I can not think of chocolate snuff now without feeling fainly sick.
The absolute worst for me (to date) has been SG Apple. After a valiant effort to make this crap palatable, it was dumped onto my lawn. The offensive scent was not the apple (couldn’t even smell the apple), it was some sort of sickly sweet chemical additive which was present is varying degrees of intensity in most of the SG snuffs I have tried (9 total so far). Red Crest is euphoria-in-a-tin and the sole reason I’ll be trying any other SG products, just not more than one in any future orders.
Toque Cheese & Bacon
I second n9inchnails with Toque Cheese & Bacon…I’m sorry Roderick but its just wrong…
Magnet Peach
Well if you want to not insult roderick then don’t say what I’am going to say. Only two snuffs I couldn’t stand. Toque peanut butter again it was some strange background scent I could never place but it was horrible. Then packards club which almost was likeable but there is a cologne background note that is horrible to my nose. Then for honorable mention by the new freybourg and treyer “dresser drawer” (that’s not it’s real name just what I’ve taken to call it) is at the very bottom of likeable. Like I can actualy imagine it growing legs and sitting on a line that says here is where snuff becomes acceptable. I added a tiny bit of jasmine can’t even smell it though it toned down the rest of the snuff and now I love that snuff. And chesse and bacon was made on a lark which roderick said before he made it. Basicly roderrick made cheese and bacon because he’s too classy to make ass crack snuff.
I remember liking the peanut butter but when I went back to it the scent was gone.
Of the snuffs ive tried theres none I really didnt like. HOWEVER, Toque espresso did make it into the garbage pretty fast.
Two snuffs that made their way to my trash bin in short order were, Poschl Gletcher prise which to me was like having a menthol cigar in my nose, and the Thai herbal snuff which reminded me of children’s cherry cough medicine, and made my entire snuff cabinet reek with the smell. I also have a 25g Dholakia Ganga that is far to perfumed for my taste. Does anyone like this snuff (Ganga)? pm me and its yours. I cant bring myself to throw it out. XD
That Fruitcake snuff Dholakia makes. *shiver*
WoS Royal George. Magnet Peach and WoS Strausburg are my least favourite snuffs.
basically any floral snuffs ive tried. F&t bureau, toque berwick brown, and 6 photos…never liked the smell of flowers or perfume
I had some bad experiences with dried-out snuff in tap boxes when I started snuff taking and those really don’t count. All the relatively fresh or well preserved snuff I’ve enjoyed; some more, some less.
Garrett’s Peach. Of course… That was a long time ago and it was one of the first snuffs I ever tried. I might even like it (a bit) if I tried it today, but there are so many superior products on the market that I would not spend money on American snuffs.
An other bad snuff,a friend pround to his grand-mother manual snuff but it was a pure dust smell.Unlucky.
Wilson’s Vanilla ( cant smell vanilla very much , very weak nicotine wise ) and Wilson’s Jasmine (smelled like soap) both made their runway to the trash (big industrial trash for construction workers)
QWS Jasmine and WoS Jockey Club. I think those are the only two snuff tins I’ve thrown in the trash. The jury is still out on Toque Cheese & Bacon – I just got the tin in the last few days. My first impression was not a good one, but that may change with time. I’m keeping an open mind.
NTSU menthol. Overall the snuffing experience is a mix of barnyard and truck muffler. Not exactly a delicate fragrance. Maybe aged and dried out a bit it will improve.
I don’t care much for WoS Brandy. I find it to be a bit like snuffing hot chocolate powder!
Toque Apricot, Blueberry Menthol and Raspberry Menthol. From burnt plastic to laundry detergent.
WoS jockey club too fake for my liking
WoS Royal George. I know it has its supporters, but I just can’t stand the stuff.
Toque Blueberry Menthol is very ‘electric’ - but reminds me of childhood sweets, so I like it.
At the moment the snuff that’s at the bottom of my “like” list is Bruton Scotch. I don’t hate this snuff but I don’t really want to snuff it all day either. Maybe sometime down the road I’ll find an American snuff that I really really like but at the moment it’s my back up snuff in case something happens to my other tins.
Big WoS fan here, but I find Lemon Grove is extremely sharp, burning my nose to the point of painful stinging whenever and however I take it. Maybe I’ve got a duff tin (just a taster tin, so could be dry) but I find it hard going compared to any other of my snuffs. I don’t hate it, and would plug on with it in the absence of any other snuff, but it’s my least favourite to date.
It’s almost heresy to say it here, it has so many followers, but I don’t reach for the Indian snuffs (Photos etc) much. Like curries, don’t mind joss. Like spices etc, just don’t want it up my nose.
