This happened to me today, i bought one 25g tin of Dholakia kamal, and i fell in love with the powerfull aroma, so i went to the online store to buy another 50g tin of kamal. it arrived today and when i opened it, it doesnt smell like the other, not bad at all but completely different. i dont now if this is normal or maybe this is an error on production or what, the color, moist and texture are the same in both of them, but the smell is so different. I know differents batches can have some differences but i don´t expected to be much. Has happened this to someone more here? Sorry for my bad english mates Greetings

I had a similar experience just the other day, also with a Dholakia snuff. My fresh tin of Taj is quite different from an older one. Still very enjoyable, but different. The old one was fairly old, though, so perhaps this is how the aroma was when fresh.

A lot of the Dholakia tubs look alike, double check it’s Kamal and not something like Ganga. The two tubs I have of these look exactly the same except for the name on the front. Although, I’ve noticed that it seems like Dholakia has changed the graphics on some of their tubs? So this may be a moot point? Otherwise, it may just be a difference in batches? Kamal is such a different kind of floral that I imagine that it’s hard to be consistent, especially with the strength of scent? I don’t know what they use to try and replicate the smell of a pink lotus, but imagine whatever it is varies greatly just based on what I’ve read about the delicate nature and scent of the flower itself. Who knows, they may not use anything in relation to the flower itself? Well, anyway… that sucks to hear as I really enjoy Kamal and have been waiting to see in be restocked at Mr. Snuff. I’ll let you know what I think if and when I pick up a new tub?

Yes this happen to more than just Dholakia, My favorite SG black coffee hasn’t been the same and fubar grunt had several variations .I have not reorder in a long time. My advice if you like a certain batch reorder right away as much as you can afford to ensure you always have your favorite.

Agreed with @basement_shaman‌ Many batches varie greatly, and it’s common with a lot of different brands. I’d die if I reordered Mild Lemon (my favorite) and it was different. I’d just die. Next time I order it I’m going to stock up like a madman.

i had a batch of viking peach that was done with the “blonde” base tobacco that was really good. the second tin i opened is with the dark base tobacco

Happened to me with 6 Photo Motia. It used to be a camphor bomb. I loved it so much that I used it to the exclusion of all others. A couple of months ago, I bought a ten pack from Mr. Snuff. Decanted it and refilled. Guess what? Almost no camphor. Nothing. Just the underlying flavors of the tobacco and whatever other scents they add. It went from my go to regardless to one I can barely stand to snuff. I bought another couple to see if the “new formulation” was the Way of Things. Sadly, it is. It alternately frustrates, saddens, and outrages me. Well, there’s Kailash and Super Kailash, but they are not even close to a replacement. Makes me want to quit altogether. So if anyone wants a pound of decanted Motia…

That sucks! I only have one “tin” of Motia and it makes my eyes water just opening it–very nice! Could you perhaps add some Camphor to your jar to save it?

I probably could, but I’d rather not. I’d like to get it as it was. Might have to, considering how much I got. Kailash and Super Kailash are what I snuff nowadays, as well as my usual forays into the smalzler bottles…

I have about 1/4 left of a 35 or 45 gm tin of Motia. Its over a year old, I never got camphor scent in it, but what I think is menthol. I’m not sure. I like it however much of either is in it. I bought it because I like the motia( jasmine) scent, the cool menthol/camphor not too important. I’d like to get some from @number_seven, but a pound is probably way too much. I’d have to give up all my other snuffs to use that much. If you want to break it down into smaller units I’d interested. I understand its a pain in the ass, so no problem if you don’t want to do that, or maybe someone else has already snagged it. Its a good snuff, but I only use it late at night before bed.

Unfortunately this is all too common and from experience can happen in the same batch. Whilst we all understand the implications of storing our collections properly, as do the manufacturers (we hope), variations in temperature and moisture through shipping can drastically alter a snuff. Luckily, whilst it happens it isn’t too regular!
