Has anyone used this remarkable-looking snuffing device? I’m interested in trying it out, since it seems a bit cleaner than taking a pinch can be (I tend to spill, which makes me feel bad if I’m in a friend’s house or similar). On the downside, I can’t seem to find anywhere outside Germany that sells this, and the postage costs seem rather excessive. Do any non-German online shops carry this, or something similarly clever?
It´s a very good device, but be adviced, that it´s a bit dangerous with finer snuff. It´s built for the typical Pöschl fluffy stuff and works very well there. It´s available in the UK as well:Mysmokingshop
My understanding is that they break easily. I’ve not tried one, that’s just what I’ve heard around here.

Get some snuff to make the order worthwhile. If it were me, I’d get Wilson’s SP Silver, as they seem to be the only vendor that carries it.

Yeah I’m picking up the Samuel Gawith florals, which I haven’t tried yet, and a small tin each of F&T Macouba and Bordeaux. I’ll add SP Silver to the list What about all the Bernard and Swedish Match ranges? They seem to have quite a few of those I haven’t seen around before. Are any of those worth a shot?
Any Bernard is a winner. I think you can get the Pöschl schmalzlers there too. For Swedish Match, they carry a good stock of Taxi (but that’s not for everyone, even though I love it). Be careful of the Samuel Gawiths there, they had some of the old style tins still in stock and although they are discounted, somtimes they are rusty and the snuff a little dried out. I bought 4 or 5 from them, and 2 or 3 were past their prime, so its a gamble.
I can’t snuff as in grab a pinch and sniff. I’ve tried pretty much every grind available and can’t do it. With this said, the only way I can use snuff is with those automatik boxes. I thought these little plastic contraptions would be very breakable so I ordered ten upfront but only use 2 at a time, for 2 different snuffs. Well, I ordered these things about a year ago and I am still using those first two. You can fill the little dispenser top part with a little or a lot of snuff and like you already mentioned, your fingers never come into contact with the snuff. These are perfect for working with grubby hands and for driving! Cleaning is a breeze too, I just step outside with my canned air and spray the old snuff ‘dust’ out and then refill. I give these boxes 5 out of 5 stars for without them, I would have quit using snuff a long time ago. 
BTW, I use everything in these and the only ones I’ve had a problem with are the extremely fine-dry snuffs, such as Dholakia White and super moist snuffs such as some schmalzers. These snuff particles are so fine that it is hard to get a decent sized pinch (the snuff wants to sink back down into the box, similar to sand in an hourglass), the cure for that though is; flick snuff into the catapult loading zone, shoot, reload and shoot again. Some of the super moist snuffs I have to do that ‘double’ dosage due to their ‘heavy’ weight. That is my opinion and I would recommend at least trying 1 out, even if you prefer the pinching with your fingers, this box would come in handy if for example, your hands are filthy.
@Xander, thanks for SG warning, I ordered the 10g dispensers instead of the tins. I’m holding off on anything Bernard for the moment, I need to check more reviews first since I’m a little shy on German snuffs after feeling the Pöschl ones are too mentholated for me. @zzedo310, thanks for sharing your experience! That sounds perfect for me, I often have trouble with taking pinches too. I ordered two of the automatik boxes, so hopefully they can help me snuff some of my more difficult snuffs without the mess
Bernard doesn’t have the menthol heavy hand like Poschl.
