Pretty disgusting picture if you ask me, is that the right story jpsks?
i don’t know about others but i never looked like that when snuffing; i am a dam gentleman and when i snuff i look like THIS
It looks like me when I take Taxi.
Propaganda.
yep miamimark thats the story just thought it was a cool pic how often do you see a pic with someone with a nosefull of snuff
I think it makes us look like a bunch of animals…
They can say all they want about tobacco, but I’ve used all kinds and a lot of it and have already lived longer than most of those tobacco abolitionists will.
Nice big snuff box, where can I find one?!!! See, the lady, she uses both hands to load herself. I’ve never done that, will have to try it
one-sided, totally biased articles like this make me fume. The AHA is effectively condemning 10s or is it 100s of thousands of people to an early grave with this sort of nonsense. Plus, as usual they are mixing nasal snuff with oral snuff. Tobaccoharmreduction.org is the place to go IMHO. Check this link otu for a free download of a book outlining current research: Free Book. Be warned though, at 304 pages it is a fairly large download.
From article: “Products of choice tend to be chewing tobacco, the longtime favourite of many baseball players, and wet or dry snuff, which is held between the lip and gum or cheek. Snus, a Swedish form of snuff, is sold in Canada as tiny tea bag-like products containing a fine tobacco mixture. When placed inside the mouth, nicotine is broken down by saliva and absorbed into the bloodstream.” “Piano said the safest aids for helping a smoker butt out for good are nicotine-replacement and pharmaceutical therapies, in conjunction with counselling and support groups.” ----- Huh, while the image depicts nasal snuff use, note that the article disregards nasal snuff completely. We have seen on our own board, many people quit cigarettes using snuff/snus. I think resorting to pharmaceuticals to aid in quitting smoking would be much more harmful in the long run (side effects etc.).
“the safest aids for helping a smoker butt out for good are nicotine-replacement and pharmaceutical therapies” So says the study funded by the pharmaceutical companies, which is why you can’t trust any tobacco study done in North America because they are all funded by the pharmaceutical companies that sell nicotine patches and other pharmaceutical quit smoking aids, and are only there to scare people into buying their products to quit smoking.
Nice picture, Mark!LOL!
That’s the way I do it.
There actually might be one reason why nicotine replacement is more effective, long-term, in keeping people away from nicotine: they are all rather disgusting, as opposed to snuff. If I had quit smoking with nic gum, that’d be one habit I’d be very glad of shedding ASAP. Snuff, on the other hand, is actually good =) The article is utter bull, anyway - it just caters to all the people who, talking about snuff and presented with the data reply with “I don’t care, it must be harmful anyway” (and I know many of the sort - I complained about a pain in my neck and I got this: “Are you sure it’s not that stuff you’re sniffing?”).
Stories like this do piss me off too. I really hate that people think all tobacco is the same. I like how people know things like water in the stomach is good putting water in your lungs bad. Yet with nicotine they can’t seem to figure out that inhaling smoke is obviously a stupid idea.
The pharmaceutical companies wield such huge power and influence over so much. That industry has massive and numerous tentacles.
