The Clove one

We had discuss recently of what we loved and those less essentials for us. But I always don’t know yours positions about a so spécial one, The Clove. The firts time I tried it,already snuffer, I said myself: -“how somebody can enjoy that…”.However for many reasons it is essential in snuff wave for me.It extends nic reception by brain,It’s a so spécial stongest flavour, not an other one like this but menthol. Be franks, all tasteds are in nature…

The McChrystal’s Clove? This one is one of my favorites. You’re quite correct, there is nothing else quite like it. Very powerful clove scent. Other snuffs have clove as part of the mix, but this is the only all clove one I know. I can see why it would be divisive, as the scent is not for everyone.

I ask for Clove in general, same It’s really McC which have the best product of it. People who don’t use clove find a small quantity too important in many blends, but when you adopt it,it’s presence is sensibly like, in intensity, an other smelled in a blend. I was just interogative to see clove products(or présence in blends) neither in prefered snuffs, neither in bads ones… But like you say it’s really a particular item.

I detect a fair bit of clove in SG’s C.C.C. Anymore than that would be too much for my delicate little nose, I imagine.

In CCC Clove is like you said,Spam,in small quantities,a litlle more had been better for me in revenge -))

@Spam McC’s Clove is eye wateringly strong on the cloves. Bloody lovely! Stefan

I ordered McC’s clove a while ago and it is a beauty. Great breakfast snuff. I love the strong flavor and it really loans itself to blending. It’s the only McC’s i’ve tried and it makes me want to try more. my nose is watering just thinking about it.

I love McC Clove, but don’t care for it straight–too clovey. A nice flavoring for me.

Of those with clove I have Pompadour, Manjul, and Christmas Pudding. The mint/clove scent of the Manjul is outstanding for me though I think I would fare better with an English mint mixed with this English clove so loved.

I just make my own Clove snuff with some Tom Buck and some whole cloves. (That’s why Tom Buck is one of my essentials.)

McChrystal’s is my all time favorite Clove snuff. Often Imitated, never duplicated, IMHO.

I still haven’t finished off half of the pound I bought a couple years ago now, and I use it almost daily.

When I got married to my loving wife and moved to Missouri I lived in IOWA and had no lie several pounds of CLOVES, whole from Frontier herbs. Unfortunately, I left the pkgs along with many of my beloved items behind. I wonder what I could have done with all that now??? Clove seems to me a great snuff flavoring/scent. What I bought them for was sticking into oranges…for popouri . If you stick em into the orange they do something. cannot remember what…been about 16 yrs since I knew that stuff.

@howdydave - How does that turn out. If I want to scent any snuff, how many cloves do I add to, lets say, 5 grams, and for how long do I keep the clove in there to absorb?

all this talk about McC clove is making me dig out mine. i only took a few pinches out before i put it away. (i got it in a sample pack)

I’ve noticed that if you put a few cloves in snuff it picks up the scent and is somewhat dryer then the snuffs made with clove oil. I like it better that way then the oil. Just a side note you guys reminded me of. A long time ago one of the old timers (back when I was a newbie on the site) said that added ground clove to their snuff and found it quite nice. As far as commerical clove snuffs my favorite is the Toque, but I find clove too harsh. Clove snuffs are the only snuffs that give me nose bleeds and that doesn’t seem right somehow. Oh and I forgot that one of my favorite home scents is lavender/clove using lavender oil (or commercial lavender snuff) with one clove per every five grams (that’s a real nice combo).

Guys care to share how can I scent my snuff with mint and clove? I have some plain snuffs which I’d like with these scents. Does adding whole cloves help? Or breaking them up into bits and letting them sit? (for example I’d love to try scenting the madras snuff like NB with clove.) any tips?

It puts the clove in the snuff.

@newbiesnuffer Make a tea or hydro sol  of clove & mint. Infuse snuff with a few drops, add more or less clove & mint to suit your taste.

Other methods:

Clove essential oil Mint essential oil. Add direct or indirect
Alcohol extraction; use high proof spirits ,shake daily for a week, strain. Spray or add drops and stir. or indirectly

Soak cloves til soften add directly to snuff use fresh mint add directly to snuff.

Helps if snuff is bone dry I would add the Mint first ,remove when crispy then add the moist cloves for 2 or more days, shake or stir to distribute scent a few time a day.

Use these methods with dry or fresh mediums

Since high RH is present in your area you could just add cloves & mint as is, may have to wait a while til scent is absorbed.

Snuff begins shows how to distill water on the stove. if you put clove & mint in the water it will make hydro sol

https://youtu.be/SE9f4xgeQkI  You can do this with herbs ,fruit, flowers and anything else you want a hydro sol flavor to be.
