OK, this may seem a bit daft. But excuse an aging disabled man. There are so many things in life we love. No need to list them. It differs with every man woman, child. Mine include snuff. Fashions come and go unfortunately, snuff has been in decline for my guess decades. Stupid humans. Right now in the USA there are cities where you cannot light a ciggie, against the law. I believe, hopefully I am wrong, New York, NY not in public. and I thought we were about freedom…With this in mind why dont folks use snuff? DUH? well some folks lets face it are not that smart. $5 to 7 a pack of smokes in chicago… Would have lasted me til noon or so. Now I dont smoke em. I quit when it was about $.65 sixty five cent a pack. Salem Light 100’s x 2 packs. Still we forget those souls who give us the things we crave, love and need to have to make our lives a joy. My thanks go out to those who manufacture snuff. Those who sell it to us since the INTERNET NAZI’'S enacted the Pact act. bet they never had a smoke or whiff of good snuff in their lives. These folks are pure of heart, RIGHT? ok maybe not. Let me live my life and enjoy it as I see fit. If ever snuff is needed it is NOW…can you imagine office bldgs with folks going thru nicotine withdrawal? bad scene. so thank you manufacturers, distributers, etc. We love you all. Modern life does not insure a better way I might add.

Hear hear! And by the way, although I haven’t bought a pack of cigarettes for over a year now, I noticed that Marlboros are $10.25 a pack here in NY. I’m on Long Island, they cost even more in the city.

P

Ciggy packs are half that price here, but I live in a tobacco-growing state. Still, every time I’m in the checkout line at the drugstore, I look across the counter to the prices on the cigarette shelves, and thank my lucky stars I found snus and snuff. Ladies and gentlemen, raise a big pinch of your favorite snuff in a toast to our cherished snuff millers and vendors!

K

@PipenSnusnSnuff Cheers!

M

@PipeSnusnSnuff, how much are a pack of non filtered Camels? I guess you’re down in NC?

P

@minux: No, I’m in Kentucky. I can’t give you an exact price on a brand, as I haven’t bought one in a couple of years now. Cartons are priced in the $45-60 range, so I would guess a pack would cost $5-6, maybe more.

J

£7-8 here in the uk that is for 20 Marlborough ! Expensive ! That’s what about $12/13 a pack ?

Sitting here enjoying a pinch of 6 photo super kailash,AHHHHHHHH

@joe: And that’s why I chuckle when I hear people here in the States grumbling about the price of cigarettes and gas! Don’t get me wrong, I still love jolly old England, but I’m so glad I don’t live there any more. Here’s one that always makes my American chums take a sharp intake of breath: Sales tax in Britain is 20%!

O

Down here in TN depending on brand cigs range from about $3.50-$7 a pack. I also agree, snuff is glorious!

I know snuff and tea the two most affordable and awesome luxuries. I can buy some high end teas for much cheaper then high end coffee (not including the absoultely most expensive tea though) and snuff I’ve had some snuffs where I’ve thought compared to a cigar I’am getting the mad pleasure and look at the price.

Although I haven’t had a snuff pinch as of yet I would like to say my opinion on this matter. Yes smokeless tobacco is cheap but what you fail to take into account is that it’s different in many ways than smoking. Part of the pleasure in smoking is the smoke. The act of sucking the cigarette and exhaling. You fail to take into account the oral fixation most of us smokers have. I am a smoker that doesn’t have a specific brand and like to try premium cigarettes and smokes a pipe at home etc. You also fail to take into account the RYO scene and although it took a big hit by the new laws it is still an affordable option. For example, when I came to the US I didn’t know where I could by RYO -my preferred method of smoking cigarettes- so I ended up spending a whole lot in packaged crap, ie Marlboros. However, a 40g pouch of Drum is 5 dollars with papers and all. They say that 40g is around 50cigs. I disagree, I get a lot more from that pouch if I buy additional papers. The papers are pretty expensive on 7eleven and the such but that’s not true for the internet. So you can get cheaper smokes and enjoy quality tobacco. Now, everything else is a matter of preference, if one doesn’t want to get into smokeless tobacco -or isn’t informed about it’s existence at all- and prefers to quit then who are we to interfere. The legislation part is another part of the story that I feel too strongly about to be able to make an opinion with no emotions but only pure facts. (it’s also a bit off-topic) This is with the best intentions because I am afraid that tobacco users will seize to exist in all forms. (extreme result but many people want it gone…)

hear, hear graybeard19! A pinch raised of Latakia AO1860 to begin the evening, and a big thank you for the folks that make snuff possible… including the retailers!

T

@ourlastdefeat Where in TN are you? I’m in Nashville… If you’re close we ought to meet up and take a pinch!

O

@transistor I’m about a 5 five hour drive east of Nashville. It would be nice to take a pinch with a fellow snuffer as I’m pretty much in the minority here. Maybe someday when I happen to be out that way we can have a pinch. The thing is, is that I don’t think tobacco will end up as being fully banned, just because it would be nearly impossible to enforce people from growing their own tobacco in their own homes (sound familiar?) Restrictions will most likely just become tougher. To get back on topic, many thanks to the people who do tons of hard work making snuff so that we may enjoy this luxury in our lives.

T

@ourlastdefeat sounds good bud. I know what you mean- my fiance is the only one I know that takes snuff! Oh well more for us eh? OH btw… have you happened across any snuff in any shops in TN? I haven’t found any besides ONE PLACE that sells Bruton…and they make it here!

O

@transistor Most of the shops around here sell several different American Scotches and one of the tobacco stores in my city also happens to sell small 5g tins of Ozona, but that’s it.
