Thai Purple Herbal

I just received my bottle of Thai purple herbal in the mail and I’m more than a little confused. It’s listed on Mr. Snuff’s American tobacco-free-only store, and it’s called herbal on the regular store, but the description on Mr. Snuff’s says it has tobacco in. Also, it seems to be imprinted with a manufacture date of 1954 on the back, and an expiry of 1956 (MFD290654, EXP290656) Anybody have any info on what this is, when its from, and maybe what’s written on the bottle?

I would love someone to clear this up. i don’t speak Thai and my supplier is in China and his explanations have confused more than helped. regarding the date: Thais have a calenders different from the standard one: Buddhist and Solar. I am not sure which one is used on the bottles.

Got some vintage snuff ,Enjoy the blast from the past has a nice burn and it is good for you.Regardless you have two years to use it up.Then it turn into a dragonfly and soars into the horizon.

Hi, I just got my Thai purple, though due to it being 59 years old, the label is actually a brown color. To clear up the date issue, I googled Thai calendar, and learned that they have an ancient solar system, as well as the English one we all are familiar with. Looking at my bottle of Thai Purple, I also notice that the glass is very thick, and seems to be more of a style from the 1950s than more recent. Also, it would most likely be in plastic container if it was recent. The snuff itself is very good. Unusual in its weird, unidentifiable herbal scenting, for sure with tobacco. Theres no doubt about that to me. I find it quite pleasant, and am using a tiny spoon this morning after pinching last night. A similar pinch to my normal snuffs was too much with this one. Less is more. I don’t know if its supposed to becalming or stimulating, but late last night I did a few small pinches then listened to long distance a.m. stations on my radio. I think it was relaxing. I’m not quite sure… I like to take a tiny pinch of Taj before I go to sleep, that for sure is relaxing… My final thought on the Thai is that it is very old as evidenced by the dates( it even has the month/ day in English system), the old style glass, the faded ink on the label, and the snuff itself is very dry, but well sealed, indicating it is fresh, but very old. As old as I am in fact. We have the same year of birth!

The dates are not 1954 and 56 they are 2011 and 13. The 54 is 2011 and the 56 then is 2013. I bought some Red Herbal Snuff direct from Thailand through Amazon.com and asked the seller to translate the dates for me. My bottle is plastic and is from the Moh Mee Company and it said MFD: 56 which is 2013 and EXP: 58 which is 2015. Don’t worry @mrmanos and @Asherael, it’s as fresh as it can be and not from the 1950’s.
