Ive been smoking a pipe going on a year now and I still don’t taste any difference in the tobaccos I have, which are frog Morton on the town, frog Morton, dunhill flake, and about 10 or so different aromatics from my local smoke shop. for some reason they all just taste the same I’ve tried using several different pipes is it just me? am I doing something wrong? any input is greatly appreciated
Smoke what you like, Virginia’s[hay or straw] taste different than Latakia[campfire] and different from Perique[spicy] and Burley[bland] and Cavendish [sweet]. Try bushing your tongue after your teeth and awaken your taste buds. I just revisited a tobacco I couldn’t stand 3 years ago and now I like it. So give it time and your tongue will get an education. Most aros I tried scorched me ,Hell I couldn’t taste much after that.
My guess is that you might be smoking it too hot and fast. Maybe. Then again I’ve had pipes that don’t express the nuances of the tobaccos smoked in them. Though it could also be that the aromatics from your local smoke shop all taste the same. I’ve seen that happen before.
