I just tried this magical elixir and am sitting back right now enjoying the experience. I get the rich flavor of roses with an underlying taste of almonds. The ambergris, in my opinion, seems to meld everything together so nicely. The richness of the tobacco comes through from the beginning and the rose flavor lasts and lasts. I can imagine Queen Charlotte taking this back in the day. I intend on ordering more of this when it becomes available at Mr Snuff and stockpiling them in my fridge.
Yes, I just opened a tin, too, my first. And yes, it’s a damned good snuff. I get a pleasant bitterness, perhaps from the almonds. And yes, the only thing that would prevent me from ordering more very shortly is that there are so many other excellent SWS snuffs, it’s hard to know which one to choose.

Great news! Only have less than half a 50g tin left and lost half of my 15g tin to mold, left it in a drawer and forgot where I put it only to find it months later covered with mold :, (

I’m going to chime in with the mould issue. I lost three half tins, luckily 15 gram ones, to mould after opening and leaving. I thought it was just my being in tropical climes, but apparently not. You have to keep the coarser, moister SWS in the fridge. Probably not such an issue with the Havana Toast, the Lundy Foot, or the Fields of Juniper, but since you’ve just opened the fridge door, why not bung the whole lot in there anyway?

I had some of the first run from my small tin that I kept on my work bench yesterday, it is nothing like the large tin I keep refrigerated, kind of nasty in fact, it is still moist but lost its scent and now smells like dirty mold, even though i cannot find any mold on it. I can’t stress strongly enough to keep your Roslein refrigerated. I know better than to leave some artisan snuffs at room temperature for months, but it got lost in the chaos that is my work environment. Just a reminder…
