When changing types of snuff in a wooden box is there anything special you need to do? Should I let it air out? I’m going from F&T Morocco to F&T Old Paris. Anything that needs to be done please let me know.

I start by putting about a teaspoon’s worth of the new blend into the box, giving it a good shake, and using it up before fully filling the box with the new blend. Any mixed flavors will only take place within this small quantity of snuff. Once it has been consumed and you refill the snuffbox, most of the old flavor will be gone.

“About a teaspoon” should really read: “Filling it about 1/4 (or less) full.”

Depends how much of a purist you are and how sensitive your palate is. I just put the next snuff in there and get on with it, I can never tell any difference to be honest.

A packet of do not eat Silica gel or fresh baking soda will absorb most left over tainting. rinse, dry , wax and polish till it shines

That’s pretty much what I do too. The only exception is that I tend to reserve some boxes for medicated snuffs as the menthol carries over to a non-menthol snuff all too easily.
