switching between natural and menthol’s

S

Do you find jumping between menthol’s and natural snuff that the menthols rob some of the scent from the naturals? By the way I am not a big fan on the menthols but find myself starting to use some in the evenings after doing naturals all day at work.

This looks like an old thread but I’ll jump in anyway. I love menthols but find I need to wait a while after using them before I go to a different type. Some days I might even wait overnight. My experience has been that a lot of snuffs, not just menthols, will alter the aroma of others. I sometimes take a good hot shower and blast my sinuses clean so I can start fresh with my snuffing.

Actually my two favorite times to snuff is the first one in the morning and the first one after a shower sans sinus dump…

Menthols can be like brushing your teeth then eating, the taste of the mint taints the food. On the occasional time that I use them, I use them on their own and then it would be one of the lighter ones like Dholakia aniseed.

S

You can turn it around into a benefit. I like menthols in the morning, and they go great with hot or iced coffee. After awhile I go with other non-mentholated snuffs.

I like the aromatics when I’m outdoors at night or its humid. I’ll probably get tired of menthols eventually but for now I love the extra punch from them and use them to drain out my nose now and then. I have a feeling that my tastes will probably drift over time.

I actually like the Wilson’s Peppermint and Aniseed Extra more and more. The Peppermint isn’t strictly a menthol, but it’s aromatic like Spyro was talking about. It’s refreshing and gives a good blow. Aniseed Extra has a nice menthol/eucalyptus hit and is also very refreshing.

I don’t find as much of an overlap with menthols as I do with heavy perfumed snuffs like F&T. The menthol seems to blend in a good way with other things. I also find that plain snuffs like IHT, HDT or even rooster clears the pallet quickly. I am not a conisure of plain snuffs so I have a box with a mix of several plain snuffs for taking to clear out my nose.
