Can anyone who has tried this say a little bit about it.
To me, there nothing really special about it. I may not have spent enough time with it, but I seem to recall it reminding me of Superior a bit. It is pale in color, and fairly bland in flavor (I may have purchased an old tin though). Nothing really stood out that would make me purchase a second tin. I sent Troutstroker a can awhile back and he can probably give you a much better impression of it as he has a better nose for American Scotch snuffs than I.
Its similar to Railroad Mills Scotch if you’ve tried that one, just the scent seems to be a touch stronger on starr. If you try it and like it, maybe Tom can get you an X-Large Gullet of STARR
Yep i’ve tried and enjoy the Railroad Mills Scotch so i shall look forward to getting this in my mailbox. I think the X-Large Gullet might be a tad much even for my snuff hoard i’m happy with 1oz of each of the american scotch snuffs until i decide upon my favourites and Tom has recently got enough new stock to keep me busy for a while. Its a shame he can’t get Levi Garrett or Stokers though as i have heard very good things about those. The W.E. Garrett Sweet is one of my favourites at the moment as its real smoky without being too sweet, hmm nice. Cheers for the info TS

Hehehe that X-Large Gullet is wrapped up like they do ground sausage here in the states…first I’ve seen that kind of packaging for snuff.
I just got a tin of Starr Scotch with my most recent order. While a few others have said it is fairly bland, I think this is a good thing. While I do thoroughly enjoy Rooster and Garrett, it’s nice to have an alternative that doesn’t have that overwhelming of of a punch. I think it’s still got the requisite nicotine, it’s just way easier for me to take than Rooster. Overall, it seems that my American snuff tendencies seem to favor the Swisher products.
Sorry Asherael, the only gullet I know of is an invagination of the cytoplasm in certain ciliates (protozoa), used for food intake, which consequently is not very convenient for carrying snuff

Hows the nicotine in this snuff? I heard it was quite high so i got this, dholakia white and fubar grunt to help me quit smoking
According to this, it has the lowest mg/g of nicotine but the highest percentage of unprotonated nicotine (though Bruton has more mg of unprotonated nicotine): monographs.iarc.fr/ENG/Monographs/vol89/mono89-6A.pdf This means that it gives you a quick fix but it doesn’t last. I find it very satisfying, though it is somewhat bitter.
Yeah i just got it today, it smells like tobacco and nickels xD still really good though
