sweet 14k snuff spoon

M

Well, if it is solid gold the metal is worth near $100. Anyway, it’s nice. I’m not bidding on it but thought it might interest someone on this list: “http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Gold-Snuff-spoon-2-9g-14k-gold-tested-/120964258579?pt=LH\\_DefaultDomain\\_0&hash=item1c2a081b13

Nice. Looks like a proper snuff spoon as well.

J

Wow, you have been doing well on E-Bay lately.

M

@juxtaposer I’m not going for it, just admiring it, it’s all yours, lol.

B

Nice. $86 dollars at current scrap metal price. A reasonable price for the starting bid at $85.

Hmmm… I’ve never stuck 14 carrots in my nose before! :-?

H

Personally, I wouldn’t buy it. 14 k gold is awefully soft and maliable. The handle would probably bend on the first attempt to scoop out from a firmly packed snuffbox.

C

Nice! I’d buy it if I had the jack. 14k is on the low end of the scale, not that soft considering it’s the grade of gold used most commonly in jewelry.

See attached.

Here’s the picture so that we can continue to oogle it after the auction ends and is deleted.

Great, something else to add to my list of stuff that I want but could never justify spending that much money on…it’s quite a long list, mostly filled with pipes, snuffboxes, fancy ocarinas and the occasional hooker.

M

well, looks like no one was interested in buying it.

I’m watching it. If it relists at a lower price, I might bid.

I thought about contacting the seller and making an offer but decided I still need to stock up the snuff cellar instead.
