Not a desert island. No, more likely draconian anti-tobacco shipping laws, or as probable new mail/postal regulations restricting international shipments of snuff. Perhaps snufftakers in the U.S. may soon feel the sting of new tobacco taxes. Your job, should you decide to accept it, is to choose the one snuff you would buy in bulk to prepare for the day when you might not easily be able to get it. Also, tell me about your longterm storage strategies. If you must, choose two, but remember that the Snuff Vault will only hold so much at ideal cellar temperature and humidity. Thanks in advance. This is not a completely academic or theoretical exercise. Paul
I would have to say McChrystalās S.P and Hedges L260. For me that covers my needs - a decent SP and my newfound appreciation for medicated snuff. Because I am relegated to the scant space in my apartment I would likely decant my snuff into mason jars and then store them in a sturdy plastic tub. I would consider splitting my āhordeā into separate stashes, so as to not keep all my eggs in one basket. As for quantity- I would be looking at somewhere around 10 kilos of each, if not more. Hampered only by my ability to purchase that much at one time; perhaps I would begin working towards that ultimate quantity. This would be if I knew it would not be available period.
Sorry pal but the creator is the survivor and the hoarder only suffers loss and diminution. The more difficult it is to get something the harder it is to hoard. Certainly snuff cannot be created out of thin air however you can snuff thin air. If I had to choose air over snuff I would. If I had to buy a snuff it would be that which is on the Spanish ghost ship that washes aimlessly through the seven seas.
Toque Pomegranate and WIlsonās Tom Buck. 5 lbs of each. Stored in glass quart jars. Should last me until I give up snuff in my old age. ( I figure Iāll have to quit when the kids stick me in the old folks home.) I canāt choose just one. Those two are my staples, everything else is just icing on the cake.
Iād fill the limited storage space with a variety. And Iāve already done that. A while ago Mistersnuff had a free shipping on orders over $250 and I stocked up on bulks.
Easy. F&T High Dry Toast and Dholakia White.
I would be perfectly happy with just F&T High Dry Toast. It doesnāt come in bulk, but perhaps I could have a few hundred small tins. Those tins are airtight and HDT only gets better with time. Keep a a couple of dozen tins on me at all times in special bandoliers.
Pretty easy for me, If I could only use 1 snuff and had to buy it in bulk Iād have to buy several hundred 200g tins of 6photo Kailash. I go through approximately one every 4 to 6 weeks (4-7g ish a day). Means my āhabitā costs me about Ā£8-Ā£12 a monthā¦
This is hard for me to answer as I am still discovering the world of snuff. I would have to choose two, Toque Spanish Gem and F&T HDT. @bigmick already hit the nail on the head with storage, glass quart jars.
I think I would cheat - It may be a good idea to stockpile a large base, say Toque Quit, or Bruton, or maybe High Dry Toast - and then have a reserve of essential oils for when human nature dictated I needed to have a little bit of variety .
I am stockpiling bulk tobacco for grinding my own snuff when the sheet hits the fan. If I had to hoard a commercial snuff, I guess I would go with Toque Spanish Brandy, but I havenāt tried many retail snuffsses :(|)
Currently I think F&T HDT and Toque USA Whiskey and Honey
6 Photo Kailash and 6 Photo Special.
3/4 of stockpile Viking Dark, 1/4 SG Black Coffee.
3/4 White Elephant 1/4 SG KBO.
Viking Dark would be the snuff, with Thorās Hammer as an alternate (I just tried it and it might replace Dark as my staple snuff). Seeing how Iāve gone through the vast majority of 500g of Dark since May 2013, Iād guess that 20 kg would be a prudent reserve since Iām only 21 now and my intake could wax or wane and selling some is always a possibility. Iāve got at least half the amount of mason jars I would need to store that. Iād keep the bulk of it in a tote in the basement. Iād choose a plain snuff because I could scent it if I wanted to. So far Iāve found Viking Dark to be a nice base for mixes.
If we are talking about genuine SURVIVAL situations, then snuff would be fairly low on my list of essential supplies. Then again⦠I currently have about 3 kilos of back-up snuff on hand ā 4 if you include the stuff that I donāt regularly use.
The scenario proposed would certainly suck⦠But I would have to go with: F&T High Dry Toast Viking Dark
ā¦F&T High Dry Toast. It doesnāt come in bulk,ā¦
Mr Snuff has a 450g tub listed, and that may not be ābulkā for some, but it is quite a large size. https://mrsnuff.com/product\_info.php?products\_id=1422
This is news to me, thanks. It certainly counts as bulk, IMO.
De Kralingse Latakia A/P⦠No second choice needed for me. Maybe a few LBs would last the rest of my life.
