Does anyone else like Superior Scotch Dry Snuff? It is marketed by Swisher I guess because at my local tobacco store they only had 4 types of nasal snuff, the Superior, Navy, Honey Bee, and one other and all of them said www.swisher.com on the label. This is my first time trying dry snuff and I really like it. Just wondering if anyone else has tried the Superior brand and if you like it. By the way, the store only had the 4.65oz containers so I had to spend more than I planned.

I can only get Superior in the large tubs as well here, but its not a problem as I’ve grown very fond of it, and finished one a few weeks ago. Its quite baffling that Superior and only Superior is in large tubs here and everything else is 1.15 oz tubs.

C

I also like it quite a bit. The only other scotch snuff I’ve tried is Bruton and I like Superior more. I have the 4.65oz as well so it will last me a good long time.

O

Superior is by far my favorite plain scotch snuff.I havent tried them all as there are some I havent been able to find but I have tried several.I am able to get it in the larger and smaller tubs when I go to Virginia

H

Ill be picking up more when I head South next month, its impossible to find by me, my last tin was several years ago and I enjoyed it then…

F

i do like superior. only plain scotch i tried, dont want to order more from mrsnuff though, since ive been waiting months for superior from them… im hoping to try more when my friends get back from an american road trip they are doing for the youtube channel. im hoping theres some good spots directly along their route.

T

I picked up a can when I was down in North Carolina and I’m glad I did. I don’t have many plain scotches in my collection, but it is my favorite by a slight margin.

G

I’m from NC and snuffing it RIGHT NOW

H

Superior was my first snuff. I don’t use it much anymore but I keep a tin around for sentimental purposes.

G

I am really loving it— very smokey scotch and long lasting-- the nic hit is incredible.

M

@Harlequin it was my first snuff as well. @general_desaix it does pack a nice punch in the nic department and the smokiness, oh the smokiness

P

It wasn’t love at first sniff but Superior has become my favorite as well (pretty much the only snuff I partake of regularly these days). When the snuff gets “juicy” in my nostrils, the smoke is gone and the scent of smooth and mellow tobacco sets in. Love that! I haven’t tried them all yet (like outlawmobile, some aren’t found locally) but the others I have tried stay smoke ridden for the duration. The 4.65 oz. canisters are the only way to go IMO.

G

Yup-- it’s that smokiness that gets you— I like that leathery tinge when it starts to let up too-- hard to beat. I snuff Superior at least 10 times a day and she always accompanies me to work. Longer lasting smoke than even Square and from me, that’s a huge compliment cause I likes me Square

I will have to keep an eye out for it, I noticed at the local grocer recently that they have a wide selection of American snuffs that I’m going to work my way through.

:x The Superior

I’m in NYC and I nd a site other than mrsnuff.com, can anyone help me up, if ya know a cool site I can hit to order snuff like the Burton scotch?

T

@imaget85 You just need to visit us here down south Visit an Ingles grocery and you can find all sorts of Scotch snuffs.

M

@imaget85 try this site: www.lilbrown.com they are in the US and ship to 23 states, not all 50 but you could check them out and see if they ship to NY because i’m not sure if they do. They have W.E. Garrett, Silver Dollar, WoS, and one other brand of snuff.

B

@md363 Pretty sure NY wasn’t included on a list of the states Lil Brown ships to. Disappointing, but I suppose Albany needs as much tax money as it can get from the exorbitant cig prices in NY, at least so it would appear…

I am fairly new to snuff. Superior is what I bought at my local Food Lion grocery store. I bought the 1.15 oz can. I like the vitamin N hit and the taste ( for lack of a better term). Couple of questions. The lid says Helme on it but that company no longer exists? My can states “sale only allowed in United States”. Why would it not be sold outside of the US?

S

^ and I believe some of the baccys in it come from outside the U.S. Go figure.

I

@jjames11: A couple of educated guesses that may answer your questions: 1. you may have old stock, in my experience a lot of American Scotches sit on the shelf a while because the manufacturers are not very invested in promoting their wonderful American made snuffs. 2. the cans are not labeled with adequate warning labels for overseas sales coupled with the fact that the tobacco company has to provide an exhaustive list that details ingredients and manufacturing processes just to make it legal for sale in the EU.

J

Thanks, Ivan. You are likely correct about this. One thing I noticed is the can and lid are both gray plastic. The label says Swisher International with the website address on it. Makes me wonder if Swisher has a huge stock of Helme containers they are using up. I really like Superior. I bought some Silver Dollar raspberry and medicated at the local tobacconist. The Superior, however, is my first snuff in the morning for the nic hit.

O

Old thread but I just figured I’d add my 2 cents because I just recently got to try it for the first time and it is a really great snuff. Right up my alley. I use it daily and though I’ve only ever had a couple other scotches before this is my favorite. Definitely worth it for anyone loving scotch and toast type snuffs. Excellent nic hit too :)>-

C

3 years after my initial post and I still have about half of that 4.65oz left! I find myself binging on it for awhile then leaving it alone for some time. I haven’t done anything special to store it and it is just as good as it was when I first opened it.

P

where does one get this snuff?

O

@Psicko Well I have a cousin who lives in NC and he got it for me at a local grocery store of the south called Food Lion. Other people on the forum have mentioned these stores before as viable places to get scotch snuffs but as far as I know they are exclusive to the SE states so basically I got lucky. It’s a shame because the stuff is made in America exclusively for America but so hard to find if you live outside the south. Made by swisher too which is mind blowing because I can find all other swisher products with ease but even stores that carry aren’t too willing to order some for me or have had no luck. It’s a real struggle for people outside the south who love scotches. Mr.snuff doesn’t even carry the superior

P

Thanks. It is a shame. The only snuff I have locally is garrett sweet. I want to try more of the American snuff as well. I’ll ask my friends in the south to get me some. And check it out next time I’m in Virginia.
