This just came through my letter box; the Bernards snuffbox from Mr Snuff. It works both as flip top dispenser and classic hinged-lid snuffbox and would easily hold 15g of snuff or so. The logo is on a sticker which could easily be removed if you wanted leaving a plain black plastic box. The slider over the dosing hole is robust and trouble free and this should last a lifetime easily. This is a superb snuffbox; looks cool, completely leak free and under £5.

Awesome news. I like the label, does it need to be coated with some clear laminate to protect it? I’ve been recycling Packard’s boxes for years and the printing on the boxes has totally worn off by now.
The only bit of this box that shows its price is the logo label: a not very sticky or squarely applied sticker. I took it off mine in about 10 minutes after I realsed it would just slowly start peeling off; no loss at all, the box is now a sleek, black affair. I really love this and the other Bernard box - in practical terms they are perfect snuff boxes and look cool too. As I said in the other thread, what appeals to me is that they are a kind of modern equivalent of the cheap papier mache boxes of yesteryear. Can’t speak highly enough of them.

I just bought 2! They are much bigger than I expected, in fact bigger than I thought I would want to use, but in fact I think I will get used to it. I snuff from the back of the hand, so the slide-back end is perfect. The box is very well engineered, the lid is a firm but not tight fit, and all in all - especially at £5 - a perfect everyday snuffbox. Apart from preferring it was smaller I can find no faults. And a short update: I’ve now been using the Bernards box for a good few days and this is the best snuffbox I own pound for pound… The only ones as good are the Bernards light coloured ones. Not saying they are the most elegant or precious boxes I have, but sheer value and practical value put them on the top of the list. Nothing like a bargain. I would have to go to my treasured Georgian silver box, with its immaculate yester-year construction to go better. Order a few before anything happens to disrupt the supply!
Are the light coloured ones smaller?
No, exactly the same. The black ones have a sliding end piece with a dosing hole as well as working as a standard snuff, extremely nicely engineered. The light ones are made of what seems to be a slightly different plastic and don’t have the end panel.

Plastic is one of the better inventions ever! Solid snuffbox for that price is amazing.
