Hello, Been following here for a while, finally decided to join. Im looking for some suggestions for my next order, and i can tell you what i tend to like. I like strong nic, with a tobacco scent, long lasting hit and scent, tend to like more moist med grind, very low nose irritation. Santo Domingo is my go to right now. Can take that one all day with low irritation. Also been enjoying abraxas dragun, strong with low irritation for me. I love the scent of toasts, but unfortunately they cause too much irritation and nose blowing for me at work which is when i manly snuff. Thinking of tryig some schmalzers as they sound dark wet and strong like santo domingo, only problem i hear is nose blowers. Good schmalzer least amount of irritation? Also note, i tend to hate floral scents. but open to fruit. Well, guys, what do you suggest? Thanks for your suggestions in advance. Sincerely, A Gentleman
There’s always Toque Rustica and Toque Quit. If you want something a little less irritating, go for Toque Spanish Gem. If you aren’t a Toque person, go for F&T HDT. Might be a bit hard to take, but you’ll work into it.
Id put 6P Kailash out there, my all time favourite. Its slightly moist but fluffy with an amazing scent and lightly mentholated (in an Indian style, nothing like European). I would also recommend Samuel Gawith. They are generally fluffy and easy to take, though the nic varies quite a bit. Their plainer varieties such as the ‘Crest’ range are a favourite of many. If you like Santa Domingo you should try F&T Bordeaux or maybe Justice. Hope that helps!
Thanks. I have f&t hdt. I have zero problem with hard to take snuffs, as i like white elephant and toasts. But toasts irritate after the fact. Can actually do white elephant all day with little nose blowing. Toasts will make me blow too much which is too bad because i love the smells. Thanks.
F&t old paris seems to get linked with santo domingo? Why? I might try that one too
On the schmaltzler front, try Sternecker Echt Fresko - no flavourings, just lovely tobacco. I would also suggest that you send @chefdaniel a PM - he is currently making a variety of moist, fairly coarse snuffs where the tobacco rather than the flavouring does most of the talking.
@Justin Solid suggestion. Like him, I would recommend sending him a PM. He hooked me up with some very good snuffs. If you want a suggestion on that, I would recommend Old Mill Premiere or Acadia.
Thanks maybe i will. Is he just a home brewer of snuff?
Yes, he makes his own snuff under the moniker of Old Mill Artisan Snuff. Most of them are easily identifiable with qualities persisting of high moisture, high coarseness, and undeniably strong scents. Very much natural. The best part is they are all high quality. You pay for what you get, that’s for sure. Shoot him a PM on here containing your email, asking for the monthly update. He is usually quick to reply if he is online. Take a look at what he’s got and go from there. You won’t be disappointed.
Pretty cool. Thanks.
Not a problem. Another thing you might do is email Paul Shallbetter. He makes videos on YouTube as Uncle Squinty. UncleSquinty@gmail.com. He makes very excellent reviews and has a pretty good knowledge of different types of snuff. Just ask him what you are looking for and he should give a nice list of snuffs within range of what you want.
Viking Blond/SG SP No. 1 High Mill will give you a taste close to the toasts but with a medium, fluffy grind. Not too high in the nic though.
You might do well to check out the viking series, viking dark specifically
Viking dark seems like a nice roccomendation, thanks
Thanks all for the great reccomendatio s! As stated im not a fan of perfumed or florar snuffs. Does anyone have some good fruit flavor recs.? My favorits is Wilsons apricot, beautiful scent! Also tried toque blueberry as everyone talks highly, not bad. What else is a good fruit one? Thanks in advance!
Viking dark is my go to snuff. It fit’s all of your points in my opinion.
Iv heard viking blonde is less itritating to the nose?
Iv heard viking blonde is less itritating to the nose?
Viking blonde has a lighter smell and a fluffier grind it is best taken off the back of the hand. I prefer viking blonde more than dark because of the texture. Viking blonde is my new go to natural snuff, it destroys wilsons natural and viking dark.
Ok then! Think im gna try blonde first! Flufier sounds nice! So what about a good fruit snuff?
Bernard’s Magic Moments Black is an AMAZING fruit snuff. If you like a little menthol mixed in go with Poschl Edelfrucht or Poschl Jubilaums Prise. Both have an interesting mix of menthol and fruit involved that are very pleasant in the nose. Toque Strawberry and Raspberry are both very good as well. I hear the Toque Pomegranate is good but I haven’t tried it personally.
Pomegranite sounds kinda good
The great thing about Toque snuffs is the flavouring, which is generally very simple and always natural. Pomegranate is not a massive flavour in itself, so the Toque pomegranate snuff is delicate, fresh and slightly sweet. Very easy to get on with.
I’ll be going for toque pomegranate next order myself
Toque pomegranate is quite simply, amazing!
